June something

Today hasn’t been too exciting. I was too snuggled to listen to anything in the morning alas. But I did get close to the lil geese when I walked the pup.

I meant to read some of my book but alas, nope. Mainly cause I got distracted by fic.

Last night I did watch all the robots of death special features though, yay!

Today’s June Something

Besides deathfic, rape/non-con, what is something that, no matter the pairing, you nope out of when it comes to reading?

Memory loss/amnesia. I don’t read fic on it and for good reason. My Nan has Alzheimer’s, so I saw first hand a person that I loved forget who they are, until she became unresponsive. It’s not something I want to be reminded of, so I generally avoid things with things of that nature.

Animal abuse is another thing I generally avoid because... no.

I'm okay with memory loss, as long as it's a fix it fic (same as you, but grandad and Parkinsons and I agree it's pretty horrendous). I dont generally like illness fic of any type (unless its "I have a cold, make chicken soup for meeeeee" type of fluff). Fanfic tends to be my escape from real life and sickfic is too realistic for me.

On a slightly more frivolous note, I nope out of mpreg hard and I'm not a fan of genderswap (like, always-a-girl). Transgender characters are cool, but there are always awesome ladies who get neglected in favour of always-a-girl and that frustrates me. But then, I'm not tied to pairings, so switching out who is hooking up is always a-ok with me.

I don’t tend to read mpreg much. And genderswap depends on the pairing.

I can imagine how amnesia fic would be hard to read. *hugs you*. For me, I'm like Dreamersdare and just don't like genderswap at all. It's one of the few things that I will back away from. Sick fic really doesn't appeal either and I'll read hurt/comfort but again not the favourite. Nor is pwp. I tend to avoid it these days whereas when I first got into fandom it was all about the sex. Maybe it's as I've gotten older that I realise it just isn't that important :D

I used to write a lot of pwp, back in the day, but I just find it so hard to do these days. I envy anybody that can write it easily.
