So here’s today’s post, let’s see what happened.

I made an intro post yesterday, due to all the new people that have added me from snowflake and such, feel free to read (I even had an unexpected new person add me today! Hi!)

Naryu’s grooming went well. She was well behaved for the most part, only growling when thy did her face (the other dogs there made much more noise). She had to be cut shorter than I would have liked, but her knots were just too bad.

I found out today that my tumblr is public again, hurrah! I’m still not gonna use it much though, the damage has been done.

I’ve meant to post fics on ao3, so I’ve posted a few the last few days. I think I’ll post a few more over the next few too

Speaking of fic I’m currently working on one for

mcfobr after the fic she did for me. Other than that I have a few possible ideas. More Killjoys stuff, a Palaye fic and a few other random things (I’ve still meant to do an mcr scat fic too). We’ll see how my mind goes after this one.

Last night I ended up watching Torchwood (after doing planet alpha some more which I’ll finish tonight). I watched two eps, Meat and Adam. (I’ll finish the rest of the disc tonight.) Meat just makes me sad for the poor space whale (and would’ve put me off meat if I wasn’t already). Adam just made me wonder how he first came into being. I mean Adam exists by people knowing him... so how did he start off? I mean when the team found him no one would have known him so surely he shouldn’t have existed.

Today’s been a pretty unexciting day. I did uni stuff, watched Father Brown and napped. It’s a shame it’s the last of the series, because that was the best Father Brown ep of the series. It was just so fun! Then there was Palaye’s new video, which, nom wet boys. (And aww Emerson being distracted by something shiny.)

So I’ve also decided I’m gonna watch something on Shudder each Saturday, like I was going to before. I dunno what I’ll watch yet, but I’ll leave some thoughts on whatever I do. I’m also gonna watch something in the afternoon, maybe Solo.

After I did yesterday’s snowflake post I did a few things. I started working on a fic based on a prompt from

akamine_chan’s Ray fic a thon which I stumbled on the other day and it got stuck in my head. I switched from it once I started getting prompts to yesterday’s post. The

bandom_holidays fics were revealed yesterday, so I was finally able to post them here. I had the immense honour of writing the one for

turps. I was super glad to get her, because she’s been so good to me. I was really pleased with the result, which like I mentioned in the notes came to me right away. I was even pleased with the pinch hit that I did over the course of an afternoon. It’s a challenge I’ll definitely do again and all the fics were great.

Last night I ended up watching Death In Paradise, though I didn’t pay much attention since I was reposting the bandom holidays fic. I then went on Ac doing some of the olympics based quests and watched an ep of a Lucifer while ficcing some more.

I watched the last Torchwood ep of disc one which was To The Last Man, which is so sad. Tommy saved the world and what did he get for his trouble? Shot for being shell shocked. Torchwood of the past surely could have stepped in to stop it, yet they did nothing. Ugh.

Today I listened to Sappenin podcast, which I was looking forward to since it had Moose from Bullet in so I hoped we might get info on what went on and Jay. However ‘legal stuff’ prevented all that (no doubt Tuck’s doing) so it was a little disappointing. It was still fun though and they said they’ll get him back when it’s sorted. It makes me worry if they ever do get Jay on that we’ll know nothing.

I had a delivery this morning too, from my friend that went to Canada recently. She found the funko of Renji from Bleach and so got it for me as a present! She’s the best! He looks great and makes me wanna resume my Bleach rewatch (resume might be a bit much, I only watched the first ep after the awesome live action film).

While putting him on my shelf I spotted my Gerard one. It’s the TBP one with the skull face and it made me realise I never got a Revenge Gee. After doing a quick search the only place that seems to have him is the mcr store but I just know wit postage it’ll be close to £20. Has anyone seen it elsewhere? I still wish they put out ones with the rest of the members. Maybe this year.

Today hasn’t been eventful other than that. I worked on fic, had my doze and now I’m gonna do the day’s snowflake challenge. Mum did find my missing Switch game which I thought was long gone, yay!

I did, however, find some footage from the show Ray got topless. The quality is terrible, but it’s worth it to see Ray swing his shirt around his head. What the fuck happened to get him to do that? And why did it never happen at any other shows? (And how did anyone survive, since Frank was topless there too)

Tomorrow I won’t be around during the day, I’ll be in Birmingham going to the streetpass meet. I’m hoping to try a vegan sausage roll and to see if McDonald’s has any Pokemon toys. I’m not gonna go in too many places due to money so I should be back pretty early.

Day 11

In your own space, talk about your creative process(es) — anything from the initial inspiration to how you feel after something’s done. Do you struggle with motivation or is it a smooth process? Ahh this is an interesting challenge. Well my creative thing is writing so that’s what I’ll talk about.

The first key thing is getting inspiration. This can come from several ways, either a prompt, a picture or a video. Other times I can just get random ideas, while lying in bed or even while watching something else. I find it easier if I’m working on something that’s either for a person or has been requested by them. That way I know that I have one person who will read the finished result.

Once I have the idea, I note it down. Sometimes the idea is a few words or a line, other times it’s a pairing. If it’s clear in my mind (and I know it won’t go away), I’ll open up a new file in Documents, which is what I use on my iPad to write. I write the header first, so at this point the fic is this.

I used to include POV too when I wrote in first person. After that I usually jot down the basis of the idea, unless I am able to get going right away. If that’s the case then I just start writing. I usually try and focus on one thing at a time, writing whatever I have to completion before switching. If I have any other ideas during this time I will note them down though.

I’m at a point now where motivation isn’t a problem. I’ll just keep going with the idea until I finish it up. This can take anything from an afternoon to a few days to do. (Although writing things in one day is rare unless it’s short.) Sometimes I’ll have links open to any specific pics that are relevant. Right now for instance I’m working on a Jet Star fic for turps, so I have a google image search of Jet Star for his outfit reference. Before I’ve had primers or picspams open, or even links to festive gear.

Since my fic isn’t usually terribly long I generally don’t plan things. That changes when I do a series (and when I did Kinkverse stuff there was a lot of interconnectedness and planning). I currently have a bit of planning with my Killjoys series. When I did my bandom holidays fic I did have some planning in place for it, because it was a challenge fic, so I noted a few things down.

Once I’ve done it, I usually give it a quick once over and then post it. Since Better Than Him, for bandom holidays, was different this last step was different. I ended up working on the end a bit longer. It originally ended with Ray and the Ways sleeping together, but then I got the idea of a final scene with Pete showing up. My first thought was that Ray would punch Pete in the face, knocking him out. But in the end it didn’t feel right to (because as Ray thinks in the fic, they’d be stuck with him unconscious outside). So instead Ray threatened him instead and it ended on a nice moment with him and his new lovers, which I thought felt better.

One of the hardest parts often ends up being coming up with a title. Sometimes I have one in mind, but other times it can be hard. Then I usually look to songs or lyrics for inspiration.

Anyway, yeah, that’s my basic process. I hope you found it interesting.

To start with, I just want to say thanks to anyone that read through my post the other morning and left nice comments. I really do appreciate you all for your kind words. Just writing it out really helped and I started to feel better just after I posted it. So thanks.

turps who decided to post pictures of Ray looking so damn good, including his hips! So naturally I had to icon it. So I have yet another icon of Ray (despite me telling myself I need one of Kobra, or Korse, or hell, I need more than just one Star Wars icon, but ah well!)

It led me to having a major Toro thirst, so I ended up reading Ray fic yesterday (thanks to

akamine_chan for linking me to some on twitter, because ngh!)

This should be the first of three posts today (four if you count the Killjoys one I posted around midnight). The other two will be repost of my bandom-holidays ones, with additional notes, once the reveal post is done sometime today. So this one will be Snowflake and rambly too.

A few tv thoughts now. Since it’s post Christmas we are in the ‘new series start time’. So there’s been three series that started this week so far. (And then there’s Death In Paradise starting tonight and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown tomorrow.)

Father Brown started Monday and it’s pretty good so far. I didn’t focus much on yesterday’s because of Toro thirst, but the first one was great. Lady Felucia is the best so having her back was awesome (though it was a shame she was only in the first one). Yesterday’s was pretty spooky, so I do kinda wish I’d paid more attention. Oops.

Silent Witness was also back on. I tend to always watch, though not post thoughts. This week’s was to do with murders associated with a trans helpline, so it seemed timely due to the trouble trans people are going through lately. I expected it to send transphobes into a fury, but I didn’t see much of it on twitter hashtag (though maybe I just missed it or had already blocked people). I hated the one cop, I wanted to punch the prick because he was not only insensitive but trying to fuck everyone else up. Still, I thought it was a pretty well done ep, and mum certainly had questions after it. Hopefully it led to people having a better understanding of trans issues,

I also started Legends Of Tomorrow Monday since it started on pick. It’s hard to judge a series after just three eps (especially since opening episodes tend to be just setting things up) but it was pretty good so far. It helped that I recognised most of them from The Flash (before they even became Legends). I’m glad to see Snart in it, since I always liked him in The Flash (even though I know from The Flash something happens to him boo).

Last night turned out to be busy. I ended up working on my second Killjoys fic, finishing it off last night. And then ahh! There was a new trailer for Star Wars Resistance and I am so hyped for it. Though since it’s now clear we get into The Force Awakens territory now I’m not ready for Kaz to be devastated. I’ll have to prepare. And that also means that BB-8 has to go back to Poe, which he really should have done when Poe showed up before (unless he went in the last ep cause I’ve not seen yet damnit Disney Xd). Hearing Hux’s speech gave me chills, though he did seem more measured than in the actual speech. I can’t wait for the series to start, hopefully it will next Saturday.

After Silent Witness (and Insert Name Here, which is hilarious though I wasn’t paying my usual attention to it) I ended up going back on Assassins Creed Odyssey. I just got to the Olympics, so there was wrestling (which made me think of one of the fics aka linked me too), saving Alkibiades from being poisoned and then more wrestling, this time covered in oil. The oil was optional but how could I not use it? Damnit Ubisoft! Alexios looked so damn good and I won the olympic thing, yess. (Of course I had to make an icon of it from the cap I got because reasons.)

Then I ended up finally starting my rewatch of Torchwood season 2. I just watched the first two eps and just. Ngh, guys kissing and the team fit together so well and Ianto being cute. I wish, wish so hard, that they had kept the format like that for longer than just this season because it was just so good. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was the better of the two (because, hey, guys kissing and Captain John’s Star Wars quote) but Sleeper was still chilling. I usually try and watch all the eps on a disc in one go, but I was tired so I’ll watch the third tonight probably.

First I have technically done this with the fic I posted last night. It’s a Jet Star/Kobra Kid fic, showing how they met which I’m quite pleased with so read if you guys get the time!

However, I am in a huge Ray Toro mood, so I was going to ask for prompts to do Ray fic/ficlets (since I can’t settle on anything myself) so go nuts! Leave me a Ray related prompt and I’ll try and fill them all. All you have to do is leave a pairing, alongside a prompt/kink and anything else you’d like and I’ll give it a go. So if there’s any Ray porn you’d like to see, hows the time! (Ideally with the others of MCR, though if you have another Ray pairing in mind let me know and I will try my best!)
