So this post is probably gonna be all over the place.

First, it’s February 18th which means it’s [personal profile] turps birthday, happy birthday! I hope you’re having an awesome day!

Also fandomtrumpshate and fandomforoz are both live for viewing. I’m not sure if I’ll be bidding on anything yet but my pages are here and here.

Sunday ended up being a lazy day. I stayed in and watched The Simpsons and then celebrity come dine with me. I watched the week that had Jay from tattoo fixers in and... he was useless! He hardly cooked anything. Cause in point his starter was soup.... out of a tin. He got some stick for it and I imagine he won’t live it down for awhile.

Sunday was also Who which, again I shoulda posted about on the day but... ah well. Thoughts ahead under the cut

After watching the pale horse (disappointing) I started disc 2 of The Clone Wars season 1. My hope was to get it all watched in one night but I failed at that. This was partly due to my brain being a bit funny but also due to more issues on the discord which ended up draining me completely. Why can’t people just get along?

Yesterday threw me off a bit cause mum was at home instead of the library. Since I was still unsettled I couldn’t focus in the afternoon so couldn’t read or fic so I just ended up recharging instead.

After the usual tv (of which there’s nothing after 9 now). I finished disc 2 of the clone wars. There’s some really entertaining and fun episodes to the series and some of the locations are so pretty but at times it can be jarring. Sometimes things are super detailed and then there was a bit from last week where Anakin looked odd. Also it was strange that they got the voice of Jar Jar in one ep and then a few later it was a different guy.

After that I finished off season 26 of Doctor Who with Survival. There’s not much to say about it really though. It’s got some good parts to it (like Ace returning to her home town and her comment on the master) but it felt a bit off somehow. Maybe it was cause of my mood or maybe it was the knowledge that this was the last ep of Classic who as a whole. I did like the cheetah people though design wise and the doctor trying to catch the kitling was funny.

I’m gonna watch the special features from the disc tonight.

This morning I finished chapter 3 of my uni and walked Naryu, but ugh. Instead of being relaxing there were at least three alarms going off, from different directions too. So my head is a bit eh.

I was thinking of using mums bus ticket tomorrow to see sonic, but she’s got a lift now so that’s not happening. Also not happening is the Xbox gr gameblast stream which... I’m not surprised since there was no announcement or confirmation.

I’m gonna try and avoid the net tomorrow afternoon lest I got annoyed about missing the mcr gig. I could afford the ticket it’s just everything else I couldn’t. Same with the upcoming palaye Birmingham gig, ugh. I’ll have to sort night vale and set it off soon.

I’m gonna snuggle now and read some of my Who magazine

So last night I continued the a watch of the Doctor Who season 26 blu ray with The Curse Of Fenric.

Like Battlefield, Fenric also had three versions of the eps as part of the boxset. Like Fenric, I kept with the special edition one which had been done originally for the dvd version. It’s probably the best episode of the season, even though the titular Fenric doesn’t actually appear until near the end (much like the Destroyer and Light in the previous episodes). Although there are a lot of parts to it, it feels like it has room to breath (something which is no doubt improved by having it as an extended version).

The episode is clearly a basis for some of the newer series eps, since it connects seemingly unconnected events to it. (Although both of these events are in the last two seasons.) And it’s a little timey wimey with the Haemovores and the ancient one.

Speaking of the Haemovores I thought they were a really cool design, especially the older ones that came out of the ocean. I loved all the scenes of them coming out the ocean and wandering around in the mist. The fact that the whole ep was shot on location really helped it I think.

It also showed how much of a manipulator Fenric and the Doctor could be. (Even though it’s backfired cause he kept Ace in the dark) Plus it gave some extra insight into Ace, much like the last one did which was nice. I’m gonna watch the other special features for the ep tonight.

One of these days I’ll be able to sort the gas card without having issues. Today the machine acted up while I was there and the guy wasn’t sure if it was because of the card or machine so suggested I try again tomorrow. It’s annoying. I’d go and check one of the other pay zones in Wryley but between the wind and food shop coming I think not. (And if it’s a service disruption it might be effecting those too.)

Money went in yesterday and all I’ve done is sort the Who magazine subscription though I’m not sure if it starts with the current issue or not (I’m waiting on a reply about that). I want to sort the Night Vale ticket but I’m waiting to see if xboxgamerreviews does gameblast this year. Gameblast is a weekend where gamers do charity streams for special effect, a charity that helps disabled gamers. XBGR usually gives away games for donations, but they’ve not announced anything yet. So I’m holding back money unless they do.

Anyway, I’m gonna snuggle and wait for the food shop then snuggle some more. I might write but my writing brain is slow lately.

And as I’m just about to post this I see I have a reply to that email.

The past few days haven’t been terribly exciting. Yesterday I went to home bargains when we took Naryu but that just left me drained. Picking up dog food, little a mop bucket and other things tired me out. I also got a cactus growing kit, which I started today (though it seems plant food was missing from it) and pop tarts which I tried last night.

It meant I was tired and dozed in the afternoon instead of writing or reading (and, after Ghost Light, I ended up sleeping early). My Xbox magazine came yesterday and I failed at giving more than a cursory glance over it. Also yesterday was the battlefront update which added BB-8 and BB-9E. This time the new heroes were free so I jumped on heroes and villains to try them. I managed to try them each once, though when I was using BB-8 the game crashed ugh, and they’re actually quite fun to use. I’ll try and use them again soon.

I was thinking of getting a ticket for the Palaye Royale show but, alas, I checked trains and there’s still no late night a Sunday ones. Ugh.

Rest of the post now is gonna be Who thoughts, first about Praxeus, the latest ep and then Ghost Light from the season 26 collection.

Well today has been a day.

I spent the morning downstairs, since I knew we had a delivery coming I just slept there. I finished watching The Clone Wars film since I started it last night and it’s pretty good in its own way. I wonder what happened to Rotta though. And, although I liked Ziro, his inclusion felt like it was added just to get Padme in there.

Anyway, the gas run out on the boiler which meant another long walk to get it topped up. Ugh. We decided we’d go after the redelivery and, since Naryu seemed to be more lively, we’d walk her as well. That was a relief, that she’s back to her usual self.

The delivery was, as expected, for Doctor Who Season 26. I sat down and read the booklet after lunch, which was pretty fascinating as always and I put on the first disc toaster. But that’ll come later.

We head down to Wryley in hopes of topping up the card at the place I did last time and... the machine was broken. I went to the post office and they still hadn’t got there’s. So I just went in the bigger co-op and then came home, it was frustrating to be honest and I vented about it on twitter to them about it. While finding the name of the place with the broken machine Though, I found a bit of luck. The Nisa just up the road came up in the store finder so I went up and paid there. It’s the same distance as the co-op so that’s good and it didn’t show up before because they just got it, problem solved.

After lunch I finished a fic, which was based on an idea that came into my head and wouldn’t leave. Then I read the aforementioned booklet, waited for the food shop and dozed.

The rest of the the night has been borderline irritating. I was watching my usual tv and my friend got harassed on twitter for posting about waycest which became a whole thing and I blocked a load of people. It made the waycest tag active again, but full of hate. It just pisses me off that people are, like that. Not only that but they attacked me as well, using posts from over a year which was irritating as hell. Ugh

Then Silent Witness had dementia which, well, it brings back bad memories, of my nan like that. It’s a horrible thing and I’ve vowed never to go like that. I’d rather die.

After that I put on the last Who ep because mum missed the start Sunday. She ended up dozing before the end though.

I then decided to put on the first of the season 26 episodes which was Battlefield.

I’ve not watched a 7th Doctor episode in awhile, in fact I can’t remember which was the last I watched. That’s a good thing I think for these rewatches. The blu ray has, for some reason, three different versions of battlefield. I went for the special edition one which is it all edited into one thing with updated effects.

It seems appropriate to watch this episode now in a way. The 7th Doctor was a period where episodes would try and add extra mystery to the Doctor. In this episode that came in the form of the Doctor being apparently, Merlin. It’s not been a thread picked up elsewhere yet (even in the audios according to the wiki) so I guess we’ll see if that ever happens.

The story is notable for bringing back the Brigadier after not appearing since the 5th Doctor. However he spends much of the early part of the story getting there so isn’t really part of the action. Instead we get a new Brigadier who seems a bit... well she doesn’t know the doctor for one, which you think would be essential knowledge for someone in her position. It was nice though to see UNIT being more multinational and old references, like Liz Shaw and Bessie.

As to the story it’s... well, parts are interesting but it’s not the best. Morgaine is a great performance but some of the others seem a bit... I dunno. The destroyer has great make up, but is only shown at the end and doesn’t really do anything other than look menacing got most of the time.

The booklet mentions it was meant to be three episodes but was padded out to four, which means it probably would’ve worked better that way. As it is, there were a few good parts but for the most part it’s just not terribly..l memorable I guess.

I’m gonna watch the special features disc tomorrow and, next week, watch eps on Monday nights as before. For now though I’m gonna snuggle then tomorrow fic.
