shadowhive: (Kazuda/Poe)
I’ve not done a post in a few days mostly because it’s been so... blah. The weather has been wet pretty much the last few days, including the occasional thunder and lightning. Yesterday it rained so much we just decided to say fuck it and stay inside.

Because of the rain it’s been dark, so I’ve not done the book reading I was gonna do. I’ve also not done any more of Deliver Us The Moon, but I might tonight/this weekend.

So on Tuesday night I finished The Talons of Weng-Chiang as well as the special features on the episode disc (there’s a second disc, with stuff mostly focussed on Whose Doctor Who, a documentary from back in the day which I’ll watch soon). I clearly remember when I first watched it. It was with my ex when they came over to study and I went to see her. There was a room there for watching stuff and there were dvds you could borrow and one of them was talons, so we watched it there. It was nice.

Anyway, the episode itself is a good one. Six parters have a tendency to drag, but this one doesn’t. I think what helps that is the addition of Jago and Litefoot, too very different Victorian gentlemen which are so brilliant in this. (So much so that there was talk of a spin off with them but it never materialised, at least until Big Finish made audios.) Leela is also great in it, although it’s funny seeing her in regular clothes (though it doesn’t stop her from kicking ass). And the Doctor is great in the Sherlock Holmes style role, complete with hat, as he ends up investigating the mysterious goings on. There’s updated graphics for the blu ray which includes making the giant rat much less cuddly and more scary. It’s an ep that’s very enjoyable and it’s obvious why it’s lasted as a favourite.

On Wednesday there was the Pokemon presentation. Everyone thought, due to the timing, it would be focussed on the new dlc and, while it did have a section on it, it wasn’t the only thing discussed. There’s two new free games, Pokemon smile (which is to get kids brushing their teeth of all things) and Pokemon cafe (which looks like a cute puzzle thing). There’s also gonna be another presentation next week about another thing, which is a mystery.

But the highlight of it was that there’s gonna be a brand new Pokemon snap game! Pokemon snap came out on the n64 and the basic premise was you’d go around sections of an island, taking pictures of the Pokemon you found there. People have been wanting a sequel for ages so to finally get one is just... ahh! It looks so pretty and great and yay!

After the presentation the first Pokemon shield dlc, the isle of Armor, went live so I downloaded and went on it. Gameplay is on a brand new island which features a bunch of Pokemon that weren’t on the game before (like chansey and scyther) and it looks nice. The story part of it is a little short though, I’ve already finished the main part and just need to pick a tower to do. One of the main features though is that there’s a diglett hunt, with 150 of them scattered around the island. Getting them nets special Pokemon but they can be so sneaky and hard to spot. They’re alolan diglett so the only way to see them is their three small hairs which are... tricky to see sometimes. I hope the second dlc is bigger.

I finally finished the fandomforoz fic I was working on which I’m quite pleased with. It might be my last mcr/waycest fic for awhile causa everything, unless season of kink inspires. I’ll be switching to work on those soon.

Yesterday included the EA stream which featured Star Wars squadrons gameplay. It looks great and it’s good to see Hera in it (and Rae Sloane?) although there’s no b-wing featured. It seems from an article I read that there’s not gonna be anything added to it, which might be which the price point is so reasonable. I hope that changes, especially since it’s multiplayer focussed. Having new things to do keeps people playing and coming back. I can see myself playing as the bombers a lot since they were my favourite class in battlefront.

Today I’m gonna watch a Greek thing from last week and maybe a Tutankhamun thing from last night instead of reading. I might watch Happy Death Day tonight cause it’s on film 4 and I need to do the wedding season for today on ac.

This weekend I wanna do Deliver Us The Moon, watch something on Shudder and mum wants to watch Endgame (ugh). On Sunday Queen and Adam Lambert are putting a show on YouTube so we’re gonna watch that, yay!
