I had meant to do these more regularly but.. *gestures*

There’s over 20 questions to catch up on so let’s see how many I do. (Questions from here)hopefully going forward I won’t have to do a big dump like this.

15. Do you still use cash?

Not really. I have coins in my wallet but most use card. I tend to only use cash if I’m given it (or if I take it out).

16. How long have you known your best friend - and how did you meet?

See this is a thing with me, I don’t remember first meetings. Like ask me how I first met anyone and, bar family, I can’t really answer. I had a think why and it might be because you don’t know when you encounter/meet/interact with someone how they’re going to be important. If that makes sense

(And also I’m not great at all with time either😭)

17. Do you have a driving licence? If so, when did you pass your test - and did you pass in a manual or an automatic?

I don’t, I had one driving lesson and the instructors attitude was just horrible (and I drove into some bins😭) so I’ve no desire for it.

18. Sweet or savoury?

I think it depends on mood cause I like both but also I feel it depends on context too. Like if I’m at home watching a film I’ll happily munch away on Doritos, if I’m at the cinema I’ll munch haribo sweets. Which isn’t really an answer but..

19. Where is the furthest you have been from home?

Orlando Florida when I was small, for Disneyland. I wasn’t told where we were going and had no idea where Orlando even was when we got to the airport

20. If you could take a pill to change gender or sexuality, would you? Why?

Gender yes, out of curiosity. Sexuality nah.

21. What skill would you most like to acquire?

I’d like to be able to do art or music (which I guess is another art really). I do try things sometimes but not as often as i should.

22. When you go abroad and arrive back at the airport for your flight home, do you keep any local currency still in your wallet or donate it?

I do like foreign coins, I’ve not been anywhere in awhile but I’d keep some definitely.

23. City break or beach holiday (or something else entirely)?

Beach, I love the ocean and I miss it.

24. Do you think the world would be a better place if we all spoke the same language?

I don’t think it would make that much difference honestly.

Like look at any country in the world, where everyone speaks the same language, does that fact make any difference at all? No it doesn’t. There’s inequality, there’s injustice, there’s bigotry. So if we woke up one day and there was just a single universal language nothing would meaningfully change.

25. Is there more once we die? If so, what is it?

I think there is an afterlife. I’m not sure exactly what shape that takes though. (I guess there’s the standard ‘seeing loved ones in a better place type thing’s

I believe in spirits and ghosts too. I dunno if they’re like… just memories being replayed or if they’re souls trapped or visiting places (or maybe it’s a bit of both)

26. Tell us the movie you first remember seeing at the cinema.

Jurassic Park. It’s probably not the first but it’s the first I vaguely remember. (Also Muppet Christmas Carol)

27. Have you ever met or seen your head of state in real life? If yes, tell us about it.

No and I don’t think I’d like to.

Our current one, Kier Starmer (at time of writing), as a complete moral vacuum. He supports war crimes, arresting protestors, pushing disabled people into poverty and doesn’t things scandals or being associated with pedophiles are disqualifying traits. He’s a dishonest, untrustworthy, bullying liar. I despise him.

To paraphrase miss piggy, if I met him I’d give him a piece of my mind to feast upon and I bet he’d choke on it.

28. Where is your safe place?

Bundled up under blankies. Or with my kitties.

29. Would you consider going back to school/college/university? If yes, what would you study?

I am studying science with the Open University right now. I dunno if I’d do another course when the degree is done.

30. Do you speak a foreign language? If yes, what is it? If no, what language would you like to learn, if any?

I know a few words in various things but not much.

I wish I knew Welsh or Japanese though

31. Do you believe in Fate?

I’m not sure. I think fate is a fun concept for storytelling but as an actual thing I’m less sure. Mostly cause it takes away free will. But at the same time it is a kind of romantic notion isn’t it?

February:

1. If life is a box of chocolates, what flavour are you chewing on right now?

Hmmm I’m not sure. Partly cause my mood is hard to place but partly cause I’m not sure how that would translate to chocolate. (And also I can’t think of chocolate flavours😭)

2. Do you enjoy live music? If so, what was the last concert or gig you went to?

I love music! The last concert I went to was James Marriott in November (who is awesome, go listen to him) and Coheed and Cambria in October (go listen to them too!) [thoughts on them are here]

My next gigs are both next month, Waterparks and 5 Seconds Of Summer who I’m excited to see cause chaotic pretty twinks

3. Is your mobile/cell glued to your side? Do you feel naked without it?

I only really use my phone for my dumb call, for gig tickets and cinema trips. (Mobile phones are one technology I don’t fuck with). My iPad on the other hand I keep with me all the time unless I’m out.

4. E-reader or paper book?

I honestly perfect paper books, there’s just something about them. I do have some stuff on my kindle to read but I’m bad at them (though I’m bad at reading physical books too so that’s not much difference)

Saying that I did finish a book today, Halloween Party.

5.Do you watch any soaps? If yes, what and since when? If no, have you ever watched any and why did you stop?

I watched Hollyoaks for a bit once but then stopped and never went back (even when Duncan James joined which I did regret)

6. What is your birthstone? Do you like it?

Apparently mine are opal and tourmaline. Both look so pretty.

7. Are you sentimental or pragmatic? Can you be both?

Hmmm I’d probably say I’m sentimental

8. Did Atlantis really exist?

Do I think Atlantis was a real place? Probably not.i don’t think there’s some lost continent or civilisation that just… vanished

But ! do think it was inspired by something. I think a natural disaster hit and devastated a town (or city or island) causing destruction and death. That actual event became the basis of Atlantis. (Of course being expanded/embelished)

9. Fame or fortune? Or both?

I don’t think I’d want fame, I’ve been the centre of attention before and not care for it. Just give me money so I can have nice things and do nice things for other people.

10. Have you, or would you, participate in a nudist event?

I’ve not and I don’t think I would. I’m too self conscious about my body for that.

11. Do you like Mondays? Whether you answer yes or no, please tell us why.

Mondays are ok for me but only cause my days are much the same for the most part

I never remember first meetings, either. Alex is so good at remembering friend anniversaries and things and I always feel a little sad that I simply don't remember them.

While in a lot of cases I don't remember specifics about first meetings unless it's something like "first day at new job", oddly enough you are one where I do - Sunshine Challenge 2022, and I'd chosen "amber" as one of the prompts. Fringe is one of my favourite shows, and the amber theme in Fringe had been my inspiration for picking it (and what I ended up doing with it), and you were the only person to pick up what I'd been thinking of and mention it.
