So yesterday was a day that had a firm split.

I woke in the morning feeling rough, mostly because of a nightmare I had which felt so real I felt the need to check (it wasn’t). But also annoying it had made me sleep longer than I expected. Then later when I checked on the Facebook app (unintentionally) it decided the first thing I should see was a pic ‘in this day’ forever ago… of someone that ditched me which was… ugh.

I must have looked rough when I came down because mum said I should stay in and not walk the pup with her. That turned out to be a good thing as an engineer from talk talk came to check the internet. They spent sometime outside checking the line (and then the storm rolled in) before coming in to check around the socket. After running some tests they replaced something and then went, which seemed to finally sort it out.

After having lunch and watching the Willow finale (which was so good I’m looking forward to what the do with the next season, it seems there’s gonna be at least three). The rain stopped so I did snowflake (although Naryu was sneaky and the storm came back as I posted)

Rest of the day was ok, i tried Thai vegan fish cakes (which were really nice, watched Agatha Raisin (which seemed to be the last ep of the series pick was playing boo), then Our Flag Means Death on iplayer (it’s still so funny I’m curious what’s gonna happen there) and then Eret decided to stream (still in England, still rocking the dress though damn that slit in it…)

Then just as I was about to finish up on Dreamlight valley and head to bed…. The net did the same thing it did on Tuesday. It disconnected at least three times, possibly more, as I went to bed. I sent a dm to talktalk when it stabilised enough to but… ugh.

Then this morning I was woke up by a call from someone claiming to be from BT open reach about the net. I felt suspicious about it, but thought it might be because of being annoyed at being awake and talking to people. Then they insisted I get the laptop and do something on it…. Which took me to a site blocked by talktalk’s scam protection.

Now I dunno if anyone else has talktalk but they rarely, RARELY block anything due to scam protection. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I’ve ran into it (and wouldn’t need all my fingers to do so) so there’s no way I’m gonna access a site they have blocked. So I hang up, headed back up and let them know.

So that’s a great start to the day, ugh.

I’m not sure what the plan is with the rest of the day. Mums clothing order is there to pick up at sainsburys but I dunno we (or I) will go pick it up cause of the weather. I want to get back to the Who run after Madame Blanc Mysteries, but Sapnap’s mentioned a stream tonight so I dunno how timing is. I might try and work on fic too but I dunno.

But ugh I’m just so annoyed and frustrated by all this Nonsense. I thought it was finally sorted so to have it act up again…

I think Openreach takes care of all internet connections but yea that was definitely a scam that you got, at least you didn't get stung :)

Yeah I’ve had calls like that before and I usually just dismiss them out of hand and the only reason I didn’t this time was causa the issues. Why are people so annoying like that?

That does sound like a scam, it's good the site got blocked. But I do hope your net gets sorted asap, I know how frustrating constantly dropping connections can be.

Yeah I’ve had similar calls before and usually just hang up, the only reason I didn’t this time was due to the issues so thought it might be a follow up call. Yeah it’s so annoying. It seems to be ok now but who knows

Hopefully the net will do better once the line resettles (line settling is an actual thing, rather than just an engineer useful excuse), but completely fuck the scammers. UHG.

I hate nightmares like that; even once you've checked up on it, it still makes you feel off all day.

Hoping the internet is fixed for good this time. It's been such a saga.

I still need to rewatch OFMD now that I can watch it legally! It was so good.

I've had that exact scam call before, too. Glad they didn't get you.

A few years ago, my internet went down and I couldn't do anything with it at the time. It was about midnight and I knew I wouldn't be able to get hold of BT at that time, so in the end I decided to just go to bed and report it the next day if there was still a problem. When I got up, it turned out it had come back at some point in the night, so I went to work thinking no more of it. Later that day, Mum said that she'd taken a call from one of those scammer twats claiming to be BT, and I did find myself wondering, if I'd had that call, whether I would have initially connected it with whatever had gone wrong the night before and how far it would have got before I realised it was a scam and they wouldn't have called me about a problem I didn't report. I can see how that one could easily get people.

Oh no! Yeah that was a lucky escape on your part. This is the first time they lucked out on me actually having an issue, before I’d just hang up, but because the engineer had been I assumed it was a follow up at first instead (didn’t help I’d only just woke up)
