Song Saturday - Set It Off

So it’s been awhile since the last song Saturday but I’m hoping to get back to doing this again, so first is Set It Off Why Do I.
In going to watch this vid I saw it had been released a month ago and I had intended to wait to watch it the following Saturday for this… but didn’t. So I finally watched it today. I was curious if it would continue on from the other Elsewhere vids and… it kinda does, but it kinda doesn’t. The sets are the bright colours of theE,se where set vids but this one doesn’t seem to linked to the others.
It plays out like a fighting video game (it even has a retro style opening and closing screen) and has the boys fighting people, though it is mostly Cody since Maxx and Zach only fight one for some reason.
As for the song itself, it’s hot one of my favs off the album and the vid doesn’t really change that alas. I’m hoping the next vid advances the story more but I guess we’ll see.

The past few days haven’t been terribly exciting, I’ve mostly just been resting. Wednesday was probably the day most interesting things happened (before yesterday) as the new Obi-Wan ep went up, which I thought would be Friday like the first. I dunno why it’s on a different day.
There was also a new trailer for Pokémon which showed some of the new Pokémon, which are so cute! I already love Smoliv. I’m likely gonna get Violet, so I hope they’re in that version (I’d be surprised if they’re not).
Yesterday I went to Birmingham to go see my friend Vin. I’d not seen her since the start of lockdown and I wasn’t sure if this was happening cause I knew she was waiting on surgery, but that’s next week (I hope it goes well!)
Before I left I had a mild panic, because I couldn’t find my wallet. I usually just put it on the sofa next to me but it wasn’t there and hadn’t fell between the cushions. Cue mad searching and panicking, only to find it was on the other one, next to where I’d put my pod thing. Sigh. At least in the search I found the book of short stories I’d been reading in October and misplaced.
I went to the station and got there with plenty of time, enough to do a slight detour to get the Lego Star Wars magazine from the co-op down there, which thankfully took my student ID. I had hoped to get a drink too since I forgot to pick one up in the stress but there wasn’t any really. The station’s ticket machine was also broken again, with the screen smashed and touch screen display upside down. I was able to use it, but when I reached to get my ticket saw there was shards of glass down there which… I reported it as soon as I was on the train and had net.
We met up at the station which was nice and we had time to go to forbidden planet so I was able to pick up the last black series Fennec (and Vaporeon funko) before we went to the cat cafe for a drink. It was nice being in there seeing the kitties and just chatting and catching up. It was odd that we were seated next to where I was when I last went too.
After that we had something to eat and went to the other forbidden planet. Alas I’d found the comics I wanted to try and get came out next week instead, but I still got some cheap things and some of the comic grab bags (each one had at least one Star Wars comic in, some two, which I’m glad about). After that we said our goodbyes, cause the later trains Vin could get were cancelled which was a shame, but it was nice to see her.
Birmingham was odd though, it wasn’t as busy as I expected, being a bank holiday. It wasn’t quiet, but it wasn’t… super busy you know? The Lego store was probably the busiest place I went to and I only went in to look at the new stuff on display (the new pyramid looks so cool!)
Since I was in Birmingham and vin went early I went to see the Bob’s Burgers Movie. Even though it was only out for a week it only had two showings and the later one was after 5 so I wasn’t keen on staying in town that long. There was a lot of ads and trailers before it, and I hope to see Thor when it comes out. Jurassic World Dominion looks like it could be good, I hope it’s better than Fallen Kingdom. And I’m definitely curious about Lightyear. I might see it alone. The film itself was… ok. It was funny enough and I liked the mystery but.. I dunno. Maybe I was just tired.
After I came out of it I went in a few places, Game, m and S (to get mum jubilee tins) and a few other places. Of course the moment I left Game it rained and heavy too. Which was annoying. But alas. I was able to go in the places I needed and then get on a train and back home. But other than that it was a nice day.
I got back ended up watching the Tommy and Wilbur stream for Amazon prime, which was pretty wild. I have never seen The Boys (that it was promoting) but it didn’t feel like it mattered too much.
And then I found out Ray played guitar with a wine glass at one of the latest shows and I ???
I dunno what the plan is for today, other than the Jubilee concert thing tonight for Queen and Adam Lambert. Maybe we’ll watch a film or something. I dunno. My arm is oddly ache though, kinda like how it felt around the time I had my jabs, which is odd cause that was ages ago. Hmm.

Date: 2022-06-07 12:53 pm (UTC)I'm glad you had such a good time with Vin, even if it was cut short.
Bob's Burgers was one I was half thinking of going to see but decided against it. Sounds like it was a good decision.

Date: 2022-06-08 08:10 pm (UTC)Yeah it was nice. I can’t remember if there was an original time planned, but obviously it had to change
I expect it’ll come to Disney+ soon, especially with the short run here, and I think it’s something I’d have probably enjoyed more at home than at the cinema (if that makes sense)
