Life by the sea

So I decided Friday to just give upon the uni assessment and submit what I had. I’d been given an extension (until Monday) and I’ve tried this past week, I really have, yet every time I’ve tried to work on it I’ve just… stared at the screen and tried to search for stuff to refresh my mind and just… no.
I think quitting it was the right thing to do as it’s felt a weight has been lifted. I might give it a look tomorrow, just in case, but… Nah.
Another weight? When I went on the laptop for uni I did look to see if there was the pad email and, sure enough, in the stuff from an older laptop was a file saying ‘iPad’ with an email address. Alas, no password, but it was enough to start a reset. I had to get call block removed from the house phone (and it’ll need to be off for awhile) but yeah, process has been started and hopefully it’ll mean I’ve not lost everything.
Trouble is it has an estimate time for getting it sorted… and it’s 13 days. Ugh. Hopefully it will be much shorter but still. The guy I talked to was nice about it when I panicked about some of the notifications (saying it’d send something to the email I was recovering and a text to the verified number… even though it’s a landline) so kudos to him.
Naryu is doing oki. She’s found her bark again, getting on mums bed and barking at… whatever she barks at that she can see from her window. We’ve walked her down by the reservoirs and she’s seen the ducks and some other dogs. The swans and geese seem to be nesting (i didn’t see the goose nest but I’m assuming) so babies soon?
Today I watched some of the classic sci-fi films on horror channel. I only watched two and they were a bit… 20 million miles to earth made me feel so bad for the creature, taken from its home and bought to a strange place only to be chased, attacked, captured and tortured, then killed. Poor thing. Then there was The Deadly Mantis which turned out to be pretty disappointing alas. I dunno what it was about it, it just felt… meh.
The Lion King was on tv before Doctor Who and, for some reason, I expected it to be the newer version which I’d not seen. Instead though it was the original, which was a pleasant surprise cause I’ve not seen it in ages. It was fun and I might have to look up the sequels on Disney+
Then there was Doctor Who, so thoughts under the cut,
So I’d been looking forward to Legends of the sea devils and it was actually pretty good. There were some interesting concepts, the guest roles were well done and I loved the design of the sea devils. I wish it had been a bit longer though, with more of the sea devils and their awesome ship. (And there’s questions, like why did the other sea devils not go after their leader?)
(I do hope we someday get an ep we’re there’s a joint human/Silurian/sea devil mission, I think that’d be cool)
It did touch on the 13/Yaz stuff, first confirmed in the last ep. It’s clear this time the doctor returns her feelings, but seems reluctant to do anything with them. This is understandable, because the doctor is, essentially immortal. Committing to a relationship means seeing the person grow old, then die. And then there’s also the fact that the doctor regenerates and each one is… the same but different. Would Yaz want to stay with the Doctor when she’s regenerated? (And would all this be different if the next ep wasn’t 13’s last?) I dunno, I guess we might find out in the next ep.
Speaking of the next ep there was a coming soon. Which was to be expected but the things in it…
There’s the Daleks. And the cybermen, seeming lead by Ashad (i thought he was dead??) and then, of course, the master (I’m so glad he’s gonna be back!) but there’s also some returning allies too. There’s Kate (yay!) but also Ace and Tegan! I didn’t recognise Tegan at first but I did Ace and that is just… so wild to me.
I wonder what this all means. I really hope that the ep is a long one, it’s gotta be way more than an hour to deal with all of that stuff) but there’s no date other than autumn. But ahh!
Now I’m going to try and fic, then maybe some Lego Star Wars stuff and then??
