It’s now December already, which feels so… wrong. It really doesn’t feel like it’s the last month of the year already. Does anyone else feel like that?
Usually this week we’d be putting up the tree and Christmas decorations, but we’d decided before the gig we might not (because I was covering at the library, we had a trip planned and it was time to pick up mum’s meds). However mum said we shouldn’t really bother with them this year. It’s not because we couldn’t get things down and set up, but it’s because of the biopsy which would mean I’d be unable to put things back (and mum wouldn’t either). So instead we’re just gonna have the real tree from last year in the window and a few little things, which suits me just fine.
Since it is December it also means it’s advent calendar time. This year, as always, I have the Lego Star Wars advent calendar which has been pretty good so far. I also have the life day pop up calendar but I’ve yet to set up the place for it (mostly cause I’ve been too drained to sort the place I was gonna use) so it’s still sealed 6 days in. I hope to have the energy to do it soon but honestly? My energy has continued to be all over the place so who the fuck knows.
Not helping was the laptop. I turned it on to try and sort it Tuesday and it came on fine o I assumed it was sorted, then tried later and it blue screened. I tried again Thursday and had it happen again, then it worked fine. I did a disk defragmentation and it stayed fine for the duration so maybe it’s fixed? But maybe not. I’ll check it again this weekend sometime (and hopefully do icons).
Tuesday morning was the library stint and it was quiet. We only had one person come in (along with delivery people) so I just spent it reading. I read a little of I Want That Twink Obliterated, but mostly I read the Star Wars Insurgency Rising comics which was pretty good. It’s set just after Return Of The Jedi and I really like something Leia says, about her feelings towards Vader.
Wednesday was the trip to town which was exhausting. We went to the outlet, which is just outside of town and it’s just so… eh. The things there are nice enough but, other than the Lindt store, there’s nothing really interesting at all, it’s just fancy places. (And yeah Lindt is fancy too) at least I got to use a birthday code I didn’t know I had so I got some free chocolate.and we had churros from the new churros store, which were nice but seemed expensive.
Before we went to the Outlet I stopped in Smiths and I got the cute fox plush I saw before, along with the new Empire and SFX magazines. I’ve only looked at the reviews of a few things but I hope to read the articles when I have focus. When we went back to town we only went in two places, B and M and Morrisons, but neither had things I hoped they would alas. But again, it meant we could use Morrisons vouchers we had.
We got home earlier than expected so that meant I could watch Skeleton Crew! It’s the new Star Wars show and I’d been excited cause every time I saw something new it looked better. The first two eps went live late Monday so I’ve had to dodge spoilers but I really enjoyed them so far! When it was first announced I kinda wasn’t sold on it being about four kids but honestly? They found some really good actors for them and I do like them all so far. (Plus there’s a cool droid and hot alien pirate.) And, despite the central characters are kids it’s not like, toned down. Like the first scene is pretty brutal, and there’s even what’s implied to be a brothel on the pirate dock they end up at. I was also surprised that Jude Law, billed as the main adult character, didn’t show up until the last scene (or did he? There’s some speculation there but I’m not sure). Anyway, I’m so eager to see how it goes though, it’s raised so many intriguing questions already.
Spotify wrapped was also Wednesday and I’m really surprised by it. Mostly I’m surprised by two things. 1: That Witches Road isn’t on there and 2: that Asking Alexandria is the 5th most played artist. I didn’t think I’d listen to them that much? Also surprising me was my number one song was Wuant (though it is a banger and I’m in the top 0.1%). It got added to Seapeekay’s playlist on stream, though I had to watch the vod to catch it cause it was while I was watching Skeleton Crew.
(Speaking of Seapeekay he was almost James Marriott’s guitarist?? And he knows all of Car Lights and almost played it with him at one of their shows?? That’s so crazy to me what the hell?)
And speaking of music it’s so funny to me that ever since I saw Sleep Token mums been searching (without prompting!) for Sleep Token stuff and has run into the same issues I’ve had (finding albums other than Take Me Back To Eden is annoyingly hard). It’s kinda sweet.
Yesterday I did some more of Alan Wake II, including one of the dlc episodes which have been slipped into the game. The first one (Number One Fan) is so wild and completed different in tone from the section I was playing. Then I watched Jawn stream and got both a gift sub and added to his cult of the lamb cult (as a lil fox guy) which was nice.
There was also the start of Tubbo’s new Realm smp. Not everyone could be there when it started (including Seapeekay boo) though Pac has been gay for Fit already and Foolish is a king now? With Owen as his jester? Which is gonna be… interesting. And how have two people already lost all three of their lives?
Today I headed off to get mums meds. I was gonna wait till her package was also ready (a jacket that’s caused me no end of trouble, not to mention eBay stuff that has which… ugh) but it didn’t come in. Instead I just went and got a few things, mostly the new Lego magazines though I also got to sample booze iced tea which I’m not sure about. The though thing made me exhausted though and I’m just gonna flop this weekend (and hopefully go on Echoes Of Wisdom finally, before I get distracted again).
There was mail when I got back though, I picked some stuff up from the Rock Sound sale so now I have a few more magazines to go through, as well as some tees. I… really need to get better at reading these magazines I have.
Plan for the weekend is Echoes Of Wisdom, there’s an indoor sale thing up the road tomorrow depending on the weather and there’s MCC though I’m not sure who I’ll watch since Seapeekay is away. Maybe I’ll watch Owen? I dunno. Then I saw Everything Everywhere All At Once is on tv so I might check that out.
Lastly is another sad thing, I saw Frank’s post about Bob a few days ago and…. damn it just made my heart break so much again. I just… I dunno. The whole thing makes me feel so incredibly sad.
Anyway, I’m gonna just flop now and maybe fic, but we’ll see.
