So it’s time for another monthly round up. The time sure has flies. I’ve something for most categories though some still are lacking sadly. (Again, mostly due to health stuff.) So again, no fic which is annoying, as well as no graphic novels (I intended to read the Dead By Daylight one, but the weekend was so dark) and no who audio (although funnily, I did listen to one this morning). I’ve also been chipping away at Rogue though my rough sleeping has meant I’ve lacked the focus to read more (which sucks!)
However good things! I’ve finished a bunch of things! The Magnus Protocol season 1 (bar the epilogue), Star Wars Outlaws (like I said it’s so fun!), Tears Of The Kingdom (finally! More on that later) and the Mallorca Files (fun as always). Also I finished the Ju-On boxset and the physical VHS films (again more on those later). And, after months of lack of focus, I’m back to watching things on shudder, and not just for VHS! The first Horror’s Greatest is fun.
Plus I saw Alien Romulous, thoughts which I posted a few weeks back.
I still need to watch the rest of Futurama, though it has been really fun and I am continuing Agatha Alll Along (which may be my fave Marvel series) so woo.
I’m hoping this month I can actually write, I have ideas it’s just the will to actually write them and it hasn’t helped having distractions (and pain). Fingers crossed I have something this week!

Anyone onto Zelda thoughts which are twofold because I’ve been playing two games.
First is Tears Of The Kingdom. While I had finished the four main regions I still had a bunch of stuff to do. I had intended to goes back to it for months but just… couldn’t. Instead I did a lot of stuff over a few days. The stuff I did:
*Beat Master Kohga in the depths multiple times, including the last one
*Went to Hyrule castle after imposter Zelda
*Found all the tears (which was wild seeing all the cutscenes)
*Did all the stable quests with Penn
*Got the master sword
*found the sage of spirit
*went in the depths beneath the caste and beat Ganondorf
It was a lot to do in such a short time but I somehow locked in and did it. The fight with Ganondorf was really hard, but it was satisfying having all the sages join in. And the last part of the fight (while thankfully easier) was so pretty.
After the credits rolled and the last scene though I couldn’t help but think one thing: did Mineru bring everyone to the island with no way down??
(Of course I have many other thoughts and feelings so if anyone has played please lemme know so we can ramble)
But it was fun and I’m glad I was finally able to lock in and do it (maybe I should get back to skyward sword at some point)
I gave myself a break and then started the new game Echoes Of Wisdom yesterday. (Thoughts this time ipunder a cut cause early game spoilers. For reference I’ve done the first dungeon and on the way to the second, but got sidetracked)
Like I mentioned about I watched more VHS films and I did ratings on twitter as I went along so I’m posting the pm here like I did with the first one the other day. As I watched 2 and Viral it surprised me how few segments I remembered (1 vaguely from 2 and the wrap around and 1 from viral) whereas in 94 I remembered them. I guess it’s cause I’d seen it more recently than 2 and viral.
VHS 2
Wrap around: 6.5/10
Segment 1: 7.5/10
Segment 2: 6/10
Segment 3: 8/10
Segment 4: 6.5/10
I’m glad that vhs 2 had more likeable characters than the first one, and I loved how inventive each of them are (even the second which was the most eh). I’d have rated the last higher if the poor pupper hadn’t got hurt (and implied died). My fav though is the one I remembered, Segment 3 (Safe Haven) which is just so well done and it’s a bold choice for the series to have a subtitled segment so early on.
VHS Viral
Wrap around: 6.5/10
Segment 1: 7.5/10
Segment 2: 7.5/10
Segment 3: 7/10
Viral felt a bit more consistent in terms of quality, though it also had one less segment. (Apparently there was a 4th segment filmed and it’s included on the American release but not on the uk one, which annoyed me as soon as I found out.) The wraparound was a little too disjointed alas, but other than that the first two were really good concepts well executed and the last one was fun too.
VHS 94
Wraparound: 7/10
Segment 1: 8/10
Segment 2: 8/10
Segment 3: 6.5/10
Segment 4: 2.5/10
After the first three films the series changed its format so every segment is set in a particular year (though after three of those the format has seemingly changed again though time will tell if it’s a one off). This one is set in 94 and the first two segments are really strong ones. (The first one especially providing a nice contrast with th documentary style of viral’s first one). However the last two segments are lacking to me. The third, while clearly well done, just didn’t hit with me and the final segment was just so… ugh. (Though maybe it’s cause of the content of it) but the wrap around was pretty good.
I might watch the next one tonight or tomorrow, ish time for the new one on Friday (which I’m hoping to watch release night)

Lastly it’s October 1st, so that makes it officially start of spooky season! I hope everyone has done something spooky today. The Who audio I listen ed to this morning was kinda spooky, then I have the Chucky season 1 finale tonight though boo sky mix at not starting season 2 next week.
