All the stars are closer
Aug. 9th, 2024 07:25 pmWell I had been hoping to do the august daily posting thing but my energy just went and my mind went blank so there’s been nothing for the past few days. Boo.
Energy hasn’t just been low because of the heat, or the standard low energy I’ve had lately, but also all of the… *gestures*. Anyone in the uk (and beyond probably) will know about the riots and the constant info about them was just so… it was so scary and so draining. I was so worried that we might have reached a point where things would get worse, that those domestic terrorists (because they’re not protestors, they don’t give a fuck about people) would win out and cause more trouble. Thankfully though things have turned out the other way, that between arrests and the public being against them has led to things petering out. Hopefully the worst is over but…
We were gonna arrange going to Birmingham for the titanic exhibit but that has understandably made me wary about it. Will we try and go now things seem to have eased? I dunno. I’d like to and since it is at the exhibition Center it should be away from any trouble if there is any but we’ll see.
Anyway.
Wednesday night was mums scan in town which I was a little antsy about, but thankfully there was no trouble in town. It seemed to go ok, though I guess we have to wait for the results. I dunno what I’m hoping for though. That they find something (in which case she can be helped with the falls) or find nothing (in which case it’s a mystery).
I had been considering going to the cinema in town this week but due to work and my own low energy I didn’t. I might still go and see Deadpool And Wolverine if I feel up to it, but the other thing I was gonna see I’m gonna give a miss. I was thinking of seeing Borderlands cause the trailer looked fun but all the reviews say it was dire (rotten tomatoes gives it 7% which… ouch). Plus Seapeekay saw it at the premier and walked away thinking the same (and he’s a fan of the series!) so I’ll definitely give it a miss.
Also on the topic of films, I was recently thinking about wanting underwater horror films and, when I went on Amazon prime to watch The Mallorca Files (the new series is on there instead of the bbc, I dunno why but the first ep was fun) two new ones popped up. One is called Gods Of The Deep and the other is called The Loch Ness Horror. Of the two the first one seems the best (the energy from the trailer and main pic is lovecraftian vibes, while the Loch Ness one is… questionable) so I might check them out soon.
A few things came in the mail this week. First was the Ju-On boxset, which looks pretty cool. I’ve only seen two of the six films (and a long time ago) so I’m looking forward to checking them out when I have energy. Then the Bethesda sale stuff came, so I have a new tee, cap and dice set… only I accidentally got two of them (so I feel like an idiot) but the dice do look pretty. Then yesterday two preorders came from amazon, the dead by daylight graphic novel and the Rogue Doctor Who book, which is my first target Doctor Who book! So I’m looking forward to reading that soon.
Gaming wise I’ve been basically attempting to speedrun things on various games, with varying results. Fortnite and Dreamlight valley have seasons ending soon and Multiversus had an event end last Tuesday which I had to speed through (but I got the reward and used it for a cool Banana Guard outfit).
Also one of the games I’ve been looking forward to go out yesterday, Steamworld Heist II and, since I had £20 on Xbox credit it was only like £2.ill likely not go on it for a few days (alas) but I am looking forward to it.
Speaking of games, I dunno if anyone still likes Marvel stuff, but I’ve got a referral code for marvel snap which is a marvel card game that’s pretty fun! If anyone wants to go and do the tutorial I’ll get some stuff (though I know most that like marvel probably already have)
I’ve seen that Chucky is starting on sky mix next week and, while I’ve not seen the films (I might have seen a bit of one?) I’m curious enough by the ad to check it out.
Also we got back to American Horror Story last night and ahhh it’s so good. We’re on Asylum and the first three eps (we watched two and three last night) have been so wild. I honestly dunno how things are gonna go but I’m curious to find out.
Anyway I’m gonna flop now, maybe do fall guys and ficcing (we’ll see if I can actually do anything cause my mind has been so unco-operative). But Blau’s Olympics is tonight Yayy (I thought it was tomorrow opp). I know tomorrow night is gonna be busy, between Tubbo’s stream battle starting, wanting to watch Krow in block wars.
