May. 12th, 2024 10:46 amYesterday ended up being so exhausting.
The weather has suddenly gone so hot, which meant that mum decided to take Naryu for an early walk yesterday morning. In typical mum fashion she didn’t even let me know she was doing it and I didn’t know she’d even gone until I heard knocking at the door. I assumed it was just that she had (as is often the case) gone without her keys so she wanted to be let in.
So I went down, opened the door and was confronted by her crying and bleeding,
She’d had one of her falls again and this time was particularly nasty. Her knees and face were bloody and she’d caught her hand too.
I got her in and cleaned up and, thankfully the knee stuff seems largely superficial because she can walk around ok. Her face stuff seems ok too, though there is swelling around her eye. The thing that seems to have been worse is her hand, which has no outward signs of damage other than scraps but she seems to have trouble using it and worries it might be broken (of course she only tells me this worry about 12 hours later when it’s too late to go anywhere and do anything about it)
It’s made me so worried though. Her falls are why I don’t like her going out and walking Naryu alone, but she doesn’t seem to understand my concerns. (It’s why I went with her to pick her meds up even though I felt terrible the other week.) I’ve made her promise that she won’t go anywhere alone in a few weeks when I’m at slam dunk, but it’s already made my anxiety about it 10 times higher.
Mum’s friend was due to come yesterday and arrived not long after we’d patched her up. I was meant to go to town and get some things sorted, which I was reluctant to do but mum insisted I go. I probably wouldn’t have if she was alone so I went which was tiring cause of the heat and it was busy.
When I got back mum’s friend had convinced her to message the library to say she couldn’t go in her state, which was something I’m glad I didn’t have to insist on, so hopefully she can spend the next few days resting, we might have to go to the hospital if her hand is still acting up, but the problem is getting to one. (The one in town is pretty small and she thinks it won’t be much use so it’d be going to one of the ones further away that’s harder to get to.)
I might do another post later with Who thoughts (cause I definitely have them!) but I’m just feeling so tired and worried and ugh.
