It’s February 1st already? Time seems to have alternately flown and slowed. However I said I’d do a monthly round up of things (mainly to make sure I kept with the resolution) so here it is. I managed to do something for each thing which was a surprise, though it was touch and go for Shudder and the book (and even then it’s only one short story!) I had hoped to actually read more but a combination of it being dark, plus depression/unfocused press meant I didn’t actually do much reading if anything. (I’m also surprised I got a fic done too)

Thoughts on some of these things can be found under the appropriate tags (I might come back and add them in later).

Here’s hoping I’m able to do this again for next month.

Other things.

In my last public post I mentioned James Marriott being added to the line up of Lovejoy but it was basically just a squee (especially as it was announced just as I was finishing the post. After being sad his own tour missed Birmingham (and considering actually going to one of the dates before deciding it’s too risky) it was just so good to hear him getting added to the Lovejoy date that I had the ticket for. I’d suspected he might be considering how they’re so linked so it was a total complete surprise but it’s still so so awesome. I’m really glad I’ll be able to see him live, especially after thinking I wouldn’t and I’m also so glad I already have a ticket. (Is it wrong I’m now more excited for him than Lovejoy?)

Speaking of gigs I’d considered trying to go to the Palaye gig in Wolverhampton this month. I’d been wary about going because I didn’t know where the venue was but decided I might try to risk it if I had all the info before booking the ticket. Then I realised that the date is on a Sunday and that ended that. It’s bad enough getting back from Birmingham on a Sunday but Wolverhampton? Nope. It’s a bit of a shame but it’s not as if I was super wanting to go or anything. (And I’ve not properly listened to the new album in awhile anyway)

Yesterday the ranked season on Magic Arena finished and I got gold which I think is pretty good considering I only figured out how to do ranked about a week ago.

The dream team mystery bag is supposed to be here in a few days but I’m not sure how considering it’s still in America according to the tracking this morning. There’s no updates on the clam slime though, but the new slime story plush looks so cute (though why Charlie chose a sinister location for some pics with Wilbur and Ranboo puzzles me)

The new Doctor Who magazine came today and just look at it!

I love this cover, Robots Of Death is one of my fav eps and the Voc robots are just… peak design. I’ve not been able to read much of it (just the season 9 boxset overview which sounds so amazing) but I’m looking forward to reading the Fact Of Fiction thing for Robots as well as the big tribute piece to it’s writer. I can tell it’ll make me wanna rewatch the ep soon too.

I might read some later after watching Vera from Sunday (and then tonight is Our Flag Means Death and maybe some gaming). Plus there’s gonna be sushi later and mum made key lime pie (which I could smell even before coming down this morning)
