Song Saturday - As It Is

Le gasp, an actual song Saturday on a Saturday? I’m gonna try and get back on track with these now because…. everything.

So this is As It Is with I Miss 2003 which I’ve intended to do for the past few weeks but… well. (And I really need a Patty icon, why are pics of him seemingly hard to find? Especially with my search being weird)

So I’ve chosen this as a song less because of the video (which is part performance, part in a skatepark) and more for the lyrics which I’ll get to. I remember Maxx was meant to drum in this video again but couldn’t, I think due to recording of Elsewhere.

I admit when I first heard the song it wasn’t my favourite, especially in comparison with In Threes (which is so awesome). But then I listened to it and just… as the name implies it’s all about nostalgia and it’s kinda sad despite being upbeat. There’s a few bits they I relate to, for obvious reasons.

Because yeah I do miss my friends that I had. And I miss the old days, when things seemed better, simpler. Probably not 2003 specifically (because years kinda… blur) but definitely around then. And to see such sentiments in a song is just… I dunno. It’s hard to describe.

Speaking of sentiment MCR have announced support for their US tour including Badflower and Waterparks but… I just find it hard to actually care. Maybe it’s because of how the toxic fan base (something sadly shared with parks), or because of all the covid delays of the reunion, or the recent (and weak) cancellation of shows. Maybe it’s a mix of those and more. I just find it hard to be excited at all.

I know I’m not crazy there, I’ve seen a few people express similar sentiments and it’s just… sad really.

The last few days have been, largely, unexciting. Mostly as I’ve been recharging from the recent stresses and not having much energy to actually do anything, which is annoying. I did start What Lies In The Multiverse though, which I am enjoying as I expected from the demo. I’m managing about a chapter a night, sometimes more.

There’s also been random lore popping up on Foolish’s streams (lore always does pop up with no warning on his so I often miss it) but it seems the egg is back…. Which means I need to find and watch egg lore which seems to be harder than you’d think. I can find the red banquet but that’s the end of it and just… im surprised someone hasn’t got a dedicated YouTube or site with links. (There must be something somewhere, as I see some people going through lore stuff sometimes)

Yesterday was Elsewhere’s release and I didn’t expect to get the cd since I had no notification it was being sent and the last time I checked it was coming Monday. So I ended up giving it a listen on Spotify (and then half listening to Dream’s podcast thing cause I zoned out a bit). But then when I came down the cd was here! So I took it with me last night and ripped it this morning and it’s on my pod thing. I’m not sure which song is my fav so far. Maybe The Magic 8 or Peekaboo but we’ll see if that changes upon listens.

I have caught up with Picard, watching the first ep Thursday and the second yesterday. I’ll probably do a dedicated post on thoughts though at some point, but I’m curious.

Then last night Quackity said he was gonna do a big stream that night with a hair reveal. Which, it’s something he’s never done so everyone was super hyped… only for the stream to happen and then that bastard tricked us! He didn’t hair reveal…. But instead revealed that he is in the uk with George and Sapnap and has been here for 4 days. Which is very…. What?

The stream ended up being short, being followed by Sapnap doing one in the kitchen making… ‘smoothies’. (One was disgusting one sounded nice.) but it was wild. It was a very what the fuck thing and I was sure that they’d kiss a few times, especially with the way when they had the camera they zoomed on each other’s asses. And how Sapnap slapped Quackity’s ass. And shenanigans with a carrot (see icon). And I’m sure I’m missing something else but it was so…

I need to do something based on it, but there’s a cooking stream tonight and I dread to think what the three of them will get up to.

But it’s also sweet because on Dream’s podcast he mentioned George was feeling sad and lonely so Sapnap got his passport sorted and came over. They really are so sweet.

I dunno what the plan is for most of the day today. I’m gonna try and finish the fic I’ve been working on and… I dunno.
