How do you steal someone’s gender?
Dec. 27th, 2021 08:35 pmThe past few days have been pretty lazy really and now we’re in the strange no man’s land between Christmas and new year which is always… odd.
The main thing I’ve been doing is watching stuff and building Lego. The watching stuff included watching Around The World In 80 days and Death In Paradise yesterday. The later was fun as always (with surprise incest) which the former was more serious than I expected. I thought it would be… I dunno, more whimsical. But it was way more serious than I expected. I think the second ep was better than the first.
(Annoyingly my head was annoying yesterday so I almost missed the start while I was lying down.)
Also we watched the Christmas bake off which was fun. Olly’s pretty cute isn’t he? As is Nathanial. (I think that’s his name? The longs haired hot one.)
I got three lego sets for Christmas, which are my main presents. The first I made, as mentioned before, was Slave I (aka Boba Fett’s ship) and it’s my fav although it’s obviously small. I can’t quite figure the stand yet, but that’s ok.
The other two were Potter sets and, well, I’m in two minds over them. (Because obviously JK is a bitch, but mum got them months ago before she continued to double down so…) I think I’d have preferred to get the Lego Mario question mark block, but then I didn’t even know about it when mum decided to get them. (And when I did I’d hoped Uni money would behave so I could get it myself.)
Anyway, the two sets were Hogsmeade Village Visit and the chamber of secrets. The former has the sweet shop and the three broomsticks and… while they are cute and have some nice details, they do feel a little small. They look festive though, with the snow.
The chamber of secrets is an odd build. It’s a collection of rooms, and most of the bags make one each (apart from the last two. The rooms are an astronomy room, defence against the dark arts classroom, Lockhart’s office, the great hall (and roof of it) and then the chamber of secrets. What puzzles me about the build is how it’s built. I expected the chamber to be built first (cause it’s the ground floor of the build) but actually it was made last. It’s a little strange building it from the top down, but having the builds be one room per bag meant I could take breaks between them.
As it is, it looks nice. The chamber definitely looks like the best part, with the giant head and the slide (though in the main build there’s no way to access the slide, you need the polyjuice set to access it properly, which I had). Plus there’s cute little pixies and the basilisk looks pretty impressive.
Today I finished the build and watched two films. Finding Dory was cute. And the Horrible Histories film was so funny! I hope they do more, and it was so fun with all the cameos. I’m gonna be watching Travel man on 1 soon which will no doubt make me wanna go to Iceland more.
My fic brain is being odd giving me more vague ideas, but I’m wanting to do the two Christmas fics I’m meant to do first (even though I have zero ideas for one)
I have managed to gain another hyperfixation because of the DreamSMP (seriously why are so many of the guys on it so damn hot?). I was minding my own business the other night and saw someone post a video of Wilbur complaining about Eret and his castle (with Wilbur saying he’d build a bigger and gayer one). So I decided to look into him a bit more. I’d seen him on Tommy’s talent show so all I knew was he had an insanely deep voice. So I watched a few videos with him and just… gah. He’s bi, uses any pronouns and is just…
And then I saw he’d posted pics on Halloween and I’m putting the full set under the cut because they are necessary to see. Because he decided to dress as his Dream SMP character (for context he was briefly the king of the server, until he realised it was more of figurehead role to Dream)

So yeah I need one of those as an icon but I dunno which one hmmm. And I hate that icon slots are so damn annoying.
