shadowhive: (Jay's Lizard tattoo)
Last night was strange. I was sitting, watching Maxx’s podcast and deciding what to put on the Xbox and suddenly the power went out. I thought for a moment it was the fuses, they’ve done it before late and night, but when I looked out the window I noticed it was dark. And yeah, I know it was night time (around midnight) so it’s supposed to be dark but this was different because the streetlights were out too.

So I go outside and walk to the road and the streetlights are out in either direction, but to the left I can see some are on. So it was a localised power cut. I went back home and after a few the power came back… and then it went off again. This time it didn’t last as long but yeah, still strange and annoying.

I did manage to finish the ESO dark heart of Skyrim epilogue quests, so got two rare achievements on exbox for it. I’m glad I got to see the hot vamp Fennorian again and I hope he shows up again sometime (probably not for awhile though, but I know he’s popular so…)

Jay did do a post on twitter again, so band stuff is coming so ahhh! Though it’s strange Moose commented on it. I hope we get to hear it soon and see who he’s with.

Palaye are doing a tour next year, but annoyingly they’re missing here… and oddly two dates on the main poster seem scratched off which seems odd. Was there supposed to be a Birmingham date and it got screwed last minute?

This morning was lazy and we didn’t watch potter today cause tiredness but ah well. There was, finally, pics of the new lego Star Wars sets which pretty much match the rumours. The Ahsoka vs Maul set looks smaller than I expected, though I’ll likely get cause it’ll be cheap. I really love the Mandalorian fighter (I missed the one done ages ago). The others seem a bit odd, mostly due to figure placements (Greef the only named character with the imperial transport? Only two figures with Slave I) but I’m curious for more info/pics.

Now onto June Something!

Day 3: What's a favorite, or at least memorable fandom meeting/interaction that you've had?

As I’ve mentioned I’m not terribly social when it comes to fandom stuff. so this’ll have to be about the few times I have been.

I guess band wise the most memorable meetings were with The Blackout, because I got to see them so many times that they recognised me. They were all nice guys and were always friendly.

I’ve not been to many cons but two come to mind. The first was Star Trek one that a friend got me a ticket for. I wasn’t expecting to go because it was done London, but it was around my birthday so was nice. I wish I’d spent more time there but didn’t which was a shame, plus I didn’t see any of the panels which I wish I did. I did get three autographs and the most memorable was with Nana Visitor (Kira from DS9 and she was so nice and friendly. I had a pic with her, but it mustn’t have saved which was so annoying. I still remember how she said ‘how nice’ when I told her a friend got me the ticket.

The second was to Star Wars Celebration when it was last down in London. This time I was staying down there and had a weekend ticket so I could fully experience it. (Though annoyingly on the second day I lost my pass so couldn’t go to the third, I was promised a replacement as a keepsake but it never arrived.) I was able to go around the place, seeing the lil Rogue One exhibit they had and I got mum an Ewok basket and I was lucky enough to get into the shop to get lots cat plushies (one of those and a white one)

I got to go to some cool panels, the best being a Boba Fett one, Ahsoka one and one where they showed off some of the creature and droid props. The best one was probably the Star Wars Rebels one, because it showed not just a trailer for the new series but also the first episodes! Which was so cool! I also got to meet my first Star Wars actor, Daniel Logan, who played young Boba Fett and he was so nice and friendly. I do wish I’d got to meet others but money was lacking which was a shame.

I also got to have a go on the new Battlefront game and there was an Old Republic thing in a local bar after which had freebies, as well as free boozes which was nice.

I found out later that on the third day one question I submitted to twitter was asked to someone (Ray a park who played Mail) and that was pretty cool too.

So yeah, I’d love to go to Celebration again with a load of money to get stuff (and go to Galaxy’s Edge with the same),
