Sep. 17th, 2019 10:22 amI’ve not done as much gaming as I’d hoped to do lately, though I did do a campaign level on Gears Sunday. Oddly I’ve been feeling tired again lately which... I dunno. Maybe it’s the weather changing or stress or whatever.
I did manage to finish fic last night though, so yay! I consider it to be my last season of kink fic since it gave me a line, though who knows?
I’m gonna debate what to do next today. While I could work on an wip, I might do something new. Something with The Used or the Ways or Patrick or that Claudio/Revenge!Gee idea that’s been in the back of my mind. We’ll see
It’s almost two weeks until triple Force Friday and there’s still been nothing official about what to expect. It’s frustrating, not least because every other day it feels like something has been leaked. I don’t get why they have to be so secretive as it’s just baffling and annoying.
That also means it’s two weeks till October. Other than Force Friday (and that’s only to Sainsbury’s) I have nothing planned thankfully. My birthday is the 20th but I expect it to be blah, like it has been for years. Maybe I can get someone to do me a fic for it, since that was something I missed last year.
Last night I watched the next Who of the run, which was State Of Decay (aka vampires in space). Travelling through e-space the tardis lands on a mysterious planet with a village ruled over by a ‘three who rule’ from a castle.
It’s a pretty good story with some interesting ideas. The original outline is obviously from an earlier era where such gothic stories were common place (the documentary confirms this and it had been shelved due to a Dracula production at the time). I always thought the one vampire made me think of Gillian Anderson and I still think that now (and the other makes me think of Ben Whishaw). The idea of the castle being a ship is a good one as is it’s use in the end.
These episode Adric as a companion, showing he stowed away on the tardis. It also introduces a theme of him being used by the villains (I know the Master did in at least one ep and I think someone else did too). I just wanna squish the sweet boy. One thing I found odd is that the vampires were enemies of the time lords and one going missing was s huge concern... but that knowledge was hidden away. Surely the threat of such a beast should’ve been common knowledge, but nope. Then again time lords do tend to hide things so maybe it’s not surprising.
I managed to watch all the special features after it, which included a documentary, behind the sofa and some vampire things.
Gonna try and start uni reading now.
