Split in two
Jun. 11th, 2018 11:30 amThe subject is in obvious reference to how this post is gonna be about two subjects, the first (and biggest) being E3.
So last night was two of the big conferences, Microsoft/Xbox and Bethesda. So here again, things are split in two.
First, Xbox. There's another mixpot for it this time, although there were technical difficulties with mixer as the stream started (and possibly before) so I dunno what's happening there. There was no info on what was in it other than a free preorder though.
As for the games, a lot of them were follow ups to one's I've got but either not started (Metro, Devil May Cry) or not finished (Halo, Division 2, Ori 2). There were a few I weren't too fussed about too, like another forza and most of the shooters. The best games, for me were Tunic (a cute fox dressed as Link), the id showcase reel (though went too fast for me to note anything down) and the last game Cyberpunk. It's by the people that did Witcher and looks like it could be interesting (and if there is gonna be character customisation it'll be epic). A lot of the stuff was just trailers, with no follow up discussion or anything which was both good and bad depending on the game.
In short though, there was nothing massive that I was interested in, at least not that sticks out now. Although there is a new game set in the Life Is Strange universe which is coming out in a few weeks for free! I dunno if it's a part/episode 1 or anything, but we'll see.
After that I did some Unravel, some Elder Scrolls and then it was the Bethesda stream.
It started off randomly, with Andrew WK coming on and singing before Rage 2. I'm not fussed by the game though. Dystopian futures seem all the rage lately but I'm not the best at shooters or at driving. There's an update for Prey, another game I need to go on, and Elder Scrolls Legends is coming to consoles, which I'm glad about. I've tried playing it on steam and it alwyas crashes lately so hopefully they fix it. New Elder Scrolls online content was teased but there wasn't much definitive info, probably due to Summerset just being released.
A large part of the thing was dedicated to Fallout 76. I've only played 4 and it's another game I need to do more on. I'm not sold on 76 either really. It's a prequel to the other Fallout games and also has an online element which I think people aren't happy about. I guess we'll see.
They also showed off an Elder Scrolls mobile game which... Eh. My mobile isn't powerful enough to run such things and my pad crashed for games sometime as it is. It's mentioned as coming for console too so I'll get it then but still, eh. Their Skyrim parody thing was awesome though.
They ended it with a new IP, Starfield. Set in space it definitely has me intrigued. And then there was the shortest teaser for Elder Scrolls VI, yes! I just wish there had been info.
So those two were a tad underwhelming, but E3 isn't over yet. Ubisoft's stream is later and the Inside Xbox stream is after too, so some of those games will get more info (though I bet it'll be focussed on stuff like Gears and Forza).
Second part of post now and it'll be much briefer. I may look back into ficcing something. I'm not sure what yet. I have a The Used fic part finished so I may do that, or I may do something with Adam (or BVB causa the last fic I mentioned).
The fic I started last week with Adam was a kinkverse one, so that's four I have in various states now. But after the initial writing burst with it I kinda stalled. Plus it being a kinkverse it would feel wrong doing it now that
carrythefire is gone. I dunno why I even started it, knowing I likely wouldn't finish it (or post it even if I did).
We'll see. I feel like the creative spark in me has gone and I hate that.
But anyway, I'm gonna go back on ESO, then wait for E3 stuff and then tomorrow uni assessment number 5 (ugh which has an essay part fuck).
