First off, as mentioned in the comments of the last post, the ducklings are ok! I saw them a few days back just swimming along with their mum looking happy and healthy, which is nice to see. I’ll have to try and get pics, but I think they’ve been sheltering in the reeds because of the weather recently.
My tummy’s felt a bit funny lately on and off. At first I thought it might be something that I ate, but now I’m wondering if it’s to do with the weather. While there hasn’t been full blown thunder and lightning storms, it’s still been windy and rainy especially on Wednesday. That was annoying. I’m hoping the weather settles and my tummy eases, especially since we have to go get meds and pet food next week. (I had considered check for Attitude the other day but the nearest place that might have it is by the station and I was just... nope.)
Stuff has come in the mail. While there’s still no sign of the Qwertee that’s been resent, SFX finally came yesterday. I’ve not had a chance to read it yet, but I hope to soon. Today’s delivery included the signed Palaye Royale card, which I wasn’t sure they’d send since I wasn’t in the US. It wasn’t in an envelope or anything, but survived the trip remarkably well as a result. Also today came the Who magazine, which I’ll read soon.
Speaking of Who I finished the power of the daleks special features last night. It’s a strange mix of things, with news reports from the time and such. One was a programme doing a feature about horror which featured the daleks briefly and it also featured a young Christopher Lee which was a surprise. It was also a surprise that most interviews (apart from performers rehearsing) featured people either smoking or drinking. Another thing was a bit from Robin Hood which is Patrick Troughton’s earliest footage of him (as well as one of the earliest footage of anything surviving) which was an interesting thing to see,
There’s also been a trailer for the new Doctor Who escape room thing that’s coming, which ends with a bit with Kate Stewart recruiting people. I do wish we’d seen more of her in the series and I don’t quite buy the offhand explanation for UNIT not appearing (who would defund an organisation that successfully fights off alien incursions? *looks around at 2020* oh).
I started a game a few days back called Observation, partly due to it being a gamepass quest, but also because it sounded interesting. You play the AI on a space station after something goes wrong and you have to help a human survivor figure out what happened. So far it’s very intruiging, especially because what the thing ended up being (this isn’t a spoiler since it’s shown at the end of the prologue) the station was meant to be orbiting earth but when you go out for a ‘spacewalk’ (not really a walk since you’re ina ball) you see that nope, it’s not Earth out there but Saturn. How it got there and why I still dunno yet. I hoped to do more but I’ve only been on it again last night (mostly causa feeling a bit tired).
Speaking of gaming I did finish Rive, which I’d been doing on the switch and it was pretty fun. I also had some luck a few days ago, winning a game called Pathfinder from a stream though I’ve not gone on it yet. I hope to go on it soon (and Spiritfarer) once I’ve done Observation.
Yesterday was Milo’s move and I hope it’s all gone well. I wish I coulda been there to help him, though I’m not too great at heavy lifting and with my tummy being funny I’d not have been much help. It’s what I hate about this long distance thing, that I can’t be there to help when needed or even just give him hugs. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to actually see him and squish him lots.
Build A Bear has a Pokemon sale and I’m pondering getting someone to keep bulbasaur company but I’m not sure who. We’ll see if the offer lasts.
I still need to get a new icon or two. And I’ve not read any of my book this week or wrote. Ugh. Then again I have been tired so...
Now I’m gonna finish noms, read the who magazine some and... I dunno.

Date: 2020-08-22 07:06 pm (UTC)Yeah, the special features on the Classic Who discs can be really hit-or-miss. Some of them are fascinating while others just makes you wonder why they even bothered.
That sounds like a really cool game! Good luck figuring out what's happened!
I've never had a long-distance relationship but I can well imagine how frustrating it must be.

And, I also hope you get those squishes with Milo at some point.
