The weekend has been, mostly, lazy once again. My head still can’t seem to write (I started something, but only got a paragraph done before my brain stalled) so that’s really annoying.

Some of the mail has come, although still not the magazine or T-shirt that have been resent. I got the Animal Crossing reuseable bag from Nintendo (which was ‘free’ though the p and p was crazy) and a Vibe funko I got from Forbidden Planet (though it went down a bit more after I ordered it, but eh I love him). Today I got some ribbon necklaces for pendants that came last week, although it was tricky getting one on.

I still haven’t got back to watching Who. I meant to watch series 2 because it was on drama but because of mums friend coming weeks back I missed it and still haven’t caught up. I’ve meant to watch the cyberman two parter but I’ve never been able to fit it in anywhere. That’s so annoying. I’ve not seen it in ages so it’s a bit hazy (and now drama is on series 3, though it missed the Christmas special so I think I’m better off just watching it on IPlayer anyway).

I wanna finish the power of the daleks special features before disc switching to clone wars of something. I watched the first one a few nights ago and it was... a little dry and overlong. Hopefully the others are more interesting.

I was thinking of watching either Noroi or Ringu on shudder this weekend, but I just felt so irritatingly tired again, which is another thing that’s so annoying. Hopefully I will soon. Last week I’d started watching some of the old Bond’s since they were on tv so this weekend was more of the same (though next week is a little odd as they’re playing them out of order). I’ve not watched the really old Bond’s in ages, I used to all the time when I was smol (I guess causa the lack of channels) but still, they’re pretty good.

So instead of watching shudder after Bond I finished off Batwoman and the ending of season 1 was just... off. It obviously wasn’t intended to be the finale, too many things were set up and threads were in the air (production was messed up due to the pandemic) which makes it all the more sad that it seems season 2 wouldn’t resolve them. With Ruby walking away from the role and someone new taking over I expect none of the stuff to get resolved and it all to focus on the new person, which is a shame.

Last night there was a Derren Brown thing which was mostly a look back. Mum seemed annoyed by that, I think she expected something new but it was ok. There was one of his shows after it but I didn’t watch, maybe if it had been the art thing I would have.

Instead of going on other Xbox games I did more ESO and I’m following the quest line mostly. I did a cave last night and, ugh I forgot how much the Charraus and Falmer were so creepy (although not as creepy on ESO, but fuck on Skyrim they were so annoying). The main Greymoor questline now is tiring to find a vampire assassin who killed the queen and when I ended it last night we’d tracked him from said cave to a mine. Wif he’s still there I dunno, we’ll see.

I did start Rive on the switch though, which I got on sale last week and it’s pretty fun so far. Otherwise it’s been AC though I haven’t done much to organise. I’m hoping to go to a treasure island to get models, but there were issues last night which was a bit annoying.

I’ve not seen the ducklings since the storm, I hope they’re ok. I did see a massive caterpillar yesterday though, but of course I didn’t have my pad to take pics. I looked it up though and it was an elephant hawk moth. The moth itself is very pretty

Yesterday we had Galaxy brownies using a kit I got from home bargains and it’s very nom. I hope to get more next time I go.

This morning I woke up and my tummy felt a bit woozy, so I spent the morning in bed. It seems a little better since coming down though I’m not sure that will last. I’m just gonna take it easy and see what happens. I don’t expect I’ll read or write or anything because of it, but we’ll see.

And ugh, our MP is being such a fuck up. He’s the education secretary and if you’ve paid even the slightest attention to the news you’ll know how badly they’ve screwed up with the A level results this year because they’re using an algorithm instead of teachers predicted grades. (And now they’re doing the same with GCSE’s as well.) There’s a huge backlash and it’s just another in a long line of cock up’s by this incompetent government. Ugh.

I’m gonna head out with the pup soonish to see if fresh air will help settle my tummy a bit, but we’ll see.

And lo, the inevitable (and yes, I do mean inevitable, because I honestly don't think what alternative solution they thought was going to fly) U-turn by the government on A-level and GCSE results has just been announced. I wonder how much time, money and energy has been wasted on an approach that was clearly flawed from the outset *eyeroll*. This government really are a bit of a joke; it's a shame we're all on the butt of it.

Writer's block is a bitch though. Have you thought about trying drabbles or something? [personal profile] pushkin666 swears by them - writing to the prompt but sticking to the wordcount is half the challenge, but it also lets you accomplish things without being overwhelming to the poor, stressed muse.

(Incidentally, finished Umbrella Academy, liked Umbrella Academy - lot more than I thought I would at the beginning - but did spend most of the season mourning Diego's change of look. I really liked the whole 'dark vigilante' thing he had going on in season 1 :D)

Still a mess, of course, because a lot of uni places/offers were already confirmed last week *sigh*. Poor kids, it is unfairly shit for them.

They're harder than they sound. I've pulled them off occasionally, but not often. Last time I tried, I ended up with 3.5k words...

Leather trumps hair for me every time, hon :D But it was very good; particularly liked Ben, Alison & Vanya's stories. Also, Five continued to be fucking awesome. He is so well played!

The exam results has been such a clusterfuck. I feel for anyone involved, especially those who have lost uni places.

That is a pretty moth.

I hope the ducklings are okay. The weather has been so extreme lately you have to hope they've found somewhere to shelter.

Writer's block must be so frustrating! I'll keep my fingers crossed you'll get your writing mojo back soon.

I see from comments that the ducklings did indeed survive the storm. I always worry about things like that too even though I'm sure ducks and ducklings have survived storms for thousands of years without problems. What a pretty moth! I wonder if we have it here in Sweden. I've certainly never seen either the moth or the caterpillar.

Homemade brownies are so yummy!

I hope your tummy has calmed down!
