The final frontier

So it seems I’m back to daily posting now which... kinda helps.
Today’s mood has been ok mixed with blah the usual blah of the past few days. This morning started by me being in bed, being frustrated at no Flick or CJ on animal crossing and then finishing my uni reading. All there is now is revision for the ‘exam’ on the 8th. I dunno if I’ll do any this week cause my focus isn’t really there. I’ve felt a bit sick too (I have even before the nonsense started) but it faded again.
Some mail came today, but not the Forbidden Planet order (which has finally been marked as dispatched). What came were the funkos of Ben and Klaus from The Umbrella Academy. I’d held off getting them for awhile but decided to finally get them from Zavvi last week. They look so good and I love them. I’m glad Diego finally has his boys.
When we took the pup out we saw the geese again, among the reeds. The babies looked cute and fluffy and their position was nice and sheltered since it’s become windy lately. After we went around their pool we caught sight of the swan in the distance and noticed that it wasn’t alone! It had babies following! When we got closer we managed to see them all and there’s five babies! It’s the first time they’ve been out, according to someone else who was there, and of course I hadn’t got the pad.
Last week The Next Generation replaced Voyager on horror channel. Season 1 is such an oddball season. It’s odd seeing Riker clean shaven, Geordi in red and engineering having a new person running it every ep. Is the role cursed? Some of the early eps are kinda... ropey, but then many series have rocky first seasons.
Because of watching that I caught an ad for Bad Samaritan, which is gonna be on the 24th. It’s something I’ve been curious about for awhile so it’ll be good to see. It has David Tennant and a Robert Sheehan in.
Merlin’s also been something alive been watching (in fact I watch TNG and then straight to Merlin) and I forgot how pretty solid it was. Merlin is just so likeable and it’s surprising that Arthur wasn’t quite a prat as I recalled early on (apart from the first ep he’s actually shown to be pretty good and definitely better than his father). Lancelot was on a few eps back and he’s so pretty.
On Saturday there’s gonna be a Eurovision night, since the traditional show isn’t gonna be on cause of the virus. There’s gonna be three shows, one with performances from past shows an ‘a-z of eurovision’ and something that I think is meant to be like the usual show. All in all I’m looking forward to it and it’ll be a welcome respite from everything, I hope Love Love Peace Peace get played at some point.
Last night I put on the doctor who and the pescatons audio on from the blu ray disc, though I zoned out part way through the second part. It’s an odd little story though and... doesn’t feel right somehow.
We also watched an old bake off, which is always a good thing and the last of Paul Hollywood’s Japan thing. One of the interesting things in it was finding out why there’s so many Kit Kat’s in Japan, because the name is like Kitu Katso, Japanese for good luck. Hence they get given out for good luck before exams and such. (Although I’m still not sure what the deal is with all the strange flavours.)
Tonight’s plan is ??? I might watch the Hollow some more since I put the first episode of season 2 on a few nights back. But we’ll see how I feel.

Date: 2020-05-16 11:58 am (UTC)I'm looking forward to watching the Eurovision shows tonight. Not as good as the real thing of course, but close.
Merlin really was a good show. Also, it's not surprising at all it grew such a vibrant fandom so fast.
And finally, new funkos, and such great choices!

Date: 2020-05-16 12:18 pm (UTC)Aww yeah definitely. I know they did some things on YouTube but I’ve not been in the mindset to watch them alas
It is, I’d forgot how good it was since I only watched it when it was first on (even tough I have a few eps on dvd)
Yeah! I held a bit, but with things being delayed or cancelled it figure how’s the time to get the boys🖤

Date: 2020-05-16 03:19 pm (UTC)From when Mikey and Pete used to interact a lot on twitter, they had this thing going about green tea kit kats and whenever either was in Japan they'd say they were looking for some/getting some for each other.
So now green tea kit kats always make me smile when I think of them.
