I heard a cry

shadowhiveSo this morning I woke up and opened my email and did a squee. Why? Because a new Doctor Who collection blu ray has been announced and gone up for preorder! And it’s season 14!
Here is a trailer for it with the awesome Louise Jameson. (And no I still can’t figure out how to embed youtube things on my pad)
Season 14 is an awesome season, it has two of my favourite old Who companions in it, Sarah Jane and Leela, as well as some great episodes (Robots of Death is one of my favourite old Who eps). Plus it’s a fourth Doctor season which adds to the awesome.
So naturally I preordered it. It’s meant to come out April 20th but let’s see if that happens (so many of the other ones have had delays, including the next one to be released season 26). So yay! I’m looking forward to getting it so much cause the blu ray special features are all awesome and well worth the price. Here’s hoping the reissue of 12 gets announced soon (and they decide to redo 19 as well. That’s the only trouble with the collections they go out of stock which is a shame cause I was late coming into getting them).
I’m hopefully heading out soon to get pet food before the food shop comes. Mums friend from the library has offered to take us once their meeting is done, which hopefully will be soon. It’s a bit of a push considering the food shop is due soon but it’ll save a trip.
I’ve got a fic idea that I might work on once it’s been delivered too, which means the remaining xmas fics are delayed again oops. But we’ll see.
Las night I went on Fallen Order again at last and escaped from the second sister (barely) and damn, the reveal of who she actually is under the mask is just... damn.
I then nommed Doritos (since going down the road meant I found some of the huge packs for £1!) and watched a few eps of Bob’s Burgers.
(As mentioned in the comments of the last post, I did manage to get the gas card paid, but it was annoying and the post office hadn’t got their machine in even though it was due on the first! It’s so poorly thought out it makes me want to hit someone! Still I got the aforementioned Doritos, plus the rise of skywalker collectors magazine and Lego Star Wars magazine which the local co-op didn’t have for some reason).

Season 12 is definitely getting a reissue, it was confirmed at a London comic con a little while ago (although without a timeline) and yeah, same here! Once I realised they went so quick I started getting them all so I have all apart from 19 and 12

Date: 2020-01-17 07:53 am (UTC)I don't hate Adric either, I don't really have a strong opinion of him so far unlike, uh, the rest of the fandom I guess? I remember I was annoyed by him at times and kinda liked him at other times, but often I just didn't manage to pay enough attention. While I've seen several stories of his era, I was always more intensely interested in someone else on the screen (I'm a big fan of Romana and Nyssa in particular, and Four and Five are among my favourite Doctors, and I'm fond of Tegan as well) and didn't really have time to pay much attention to Adric... So he's in the "I need to see more of him before I form an opinion" camp (along with... Dodo, Peri, and Mel, I guess? despite the fact that I've seen a lot more of him). I guess that may be one of the effects of a crowded TARDIS.
Yay, I'm glad to hear that Season 12 reissue has been confirmed! I got 18 and 19 by preorder, I didn't get 10 because I'm just not interested in paying money to watch Three and Jo (sorry, that's just so not for me), and I didn't yet get 23 because I'm poor and I kinda figured Six's stuff might not go as quickly as people have Opinions... Haven't checked if I'm right, though! But at least there's also a pre-existing version of that season on DVD. I'm torn about Season 26 because I really want it but I also really don't have the money. Dammit. I'm kinda hoping it wouldn't sell out immediately so I could get it out of next month's funds...

Date: 2020-01-17 11:38 am (UTC)Yeah he definitely was with some strong characters that overshadowed him at times. (And yes Nyssa is awesome!) I think a good thing about these collections is that you see episodes in context. The episode dvds (bar a few boxsets) came out in such a random order that most of the time it’s hard to judge a companion. And yeah, I think someone said once that the tardis was crowded (and they didn’t know what to do with him)
Yeah me too! I’m looking forward to getting 12. I came into things late, so 10 was the first one I ordered. I had a discount code for a site and used it on that and 23. (I had to get 18 off eBay and I still haven’t got 19). That’s ok! Everyone has things that they don’t like (I’m a completionist soo...) . Yeah I don’t think 23 has gone yet (it’s the only one I’ve seen out in stores!) and yeah. I do feel sorry for Six. He’s not my favourite but he had a bad run and bts stuff didn’t help either. I’ve got it on preorder and I hope money will be ok for it, hopefully (since it’s not four) it’ll stay in for awhile for you!
