So the last few posts have been both a monthly round up and snowflake so I’ve not done an update on irl nonsense since it didn’t feel fitting.

But ugh there has been some.

So last week mum had called British Gas to switch the meter. It had been switched years back to a card one, but a few months ago the nearest top up place stopped doing it. (Going from a 5 minute walk each way to a 20 minute one each way). Due to all the issues mum wanted to change it back and I saw we’d had a email about doing just that so she decided to do it.

The appointment was for Monday and we’d been told they’d just need access to the gas meter which is fine. We moved things around so he could and thought that was the end of it.

Come Monday and he came (thankfully at the early end of the 1-5 slot) and as soon as he was in he wanted to check the gas fire and the electric meter. Which we weren’t told he’d need access too and mum months ago put things in front of the way to it. If we’d been told when she called we could probably have attempted to move things (even though it would’ve been a bad idea) but as we weren’t?

It looked for a moment that he’d leave, no doubt cause of how frustrated both of us were cause of that, but eventually he did it anyway. The only thing was he left some sort of disc in so the meter would be off, but the repair guy we had coming could remove it.

We do need to call up to make sure that it’s been properly registered as switching over, though we’ve gotta wait to be sure it’s on the system.

That night. Probably cause of a mix of the stress and everything my anxiety went heywire which was just… ugh. And it meant I didn’t sleep till 4. (I did watch another Staranger things ep, I might talk about that I a separate thing).

Tuesday was also a bit stressful cause of food shop coming, which I still couldn’t help with but eh. We didn’t have a time for the repair guy to come so it was just a matter of waiting.

Just after 5 he came and he was able to remove the disc (though he needed to check the fire too which was a pain) and he spent over an hour doing through checks, to make sure it really was the thermostat. Once he was sure he did replace it with a new, simpler one and he told us ones like the one we had did get errors like what we’d had.

So yeah it seems it’s mostly sorted. Hopefully.

That night I watched the Rig, but then I went really tired so went to bed early.

Today we were gonna sort the insurance stuff but I don’t think either of us were up to it so we didn’t. To be honest I’d prefer to just cancel the current insurance than take time before getting a new one but mum does t want to so… eh.

Good thing though, I finished Five Little Pigs so yay! I actually finished a book! I might post about it (and. Stranger things) in a separate post cause this has gone on a bit.

Now I’m gonna rest, watch the bonte avond stream, hopefully fic and watch the traitors (I’ve gotten really into it).

But a good irl thing? It seems the pain is starting to ease and the stitches has dissolved so that’s a good sign.
