shadowhive: (James Bubbles)

So I was intending to post about James Marriott’s new song on Saturday but then he didn’t post the video until late and I couldn’t watch. So I was going to watch and post this yesterday and then got majorly distracted so…

Again this feels very much like another case of love the song, the video not so much. And I do, I love the song so many. I listened to it a lot on Friday after it came out and it’s so good. The video is just a bit… I dunno. Maybe it’s the weird effects or not being able to see much of the band I dunno.

Having said that I’m glad we get a new James song and I’m excited for more, I hope he does another tour soon because he was so great at the Lovejoy show and I really think he could play a venue that size himself. (I mean everyone was singing along which is so so rare for a support act). And just ahhh!

(Hopefully I’ll have the big Generation Loss post I’m working on soon)

On Saturday I did what I was gonna do which is watch Temple Of Doom in the afternoon. The thing about Temple is I remember it being the weakest of the first Indy films and then I watch it and think that it’s a lot of fun. (Bar the dinner scene.) Plus, yeah, there’s shirtless and sweaty Indy which is nice to look at.

After that there was the Wholesome Games Direct which was full of cute games with animals and cuteness. Three stuck in my mind:
*Smushi Come Home: which has a cute lil mushroom adventuring and looks cute (and rides capybaras!) and it’s out now with a discount so I might pick it up
*I Am A Caterpillar: which is about a caterpillar that doesn’t want to turn into a butterfly which sounds like such an interesting premise
*Manitas Kitchen: which is about a t-Rex that wants to be a pizza chef which sounds so endearing

After that there was MCC pride and I watched Ranboo’s pov again. They were dressed as spider Gwen and said they’re gonna do at least a few more MCC’s which is good. They’re also back in Brighton which is a surprise because I figured they’d stay in the US awhile before coming back.

On Sunday I ended up watching The Mummy based on Ria’s suggestion (and it was on Amazon prime which I still have for awhile on student discount, though I need to contact them about keeping it). Anyway it’s such a fun film I love it so much and I’m glad I decided to watch again. Plus I love Evelyn she’s so awesome. I might watch the others if I still have prime (i remember liking the third one when I saw it despite thinking it was so stupid of them to recast her)

I also did some Zelda and I’m still not really doing much. I’ve mostly just been randomly adventuring and not getting far in any of the main stories or quests. I wanna get back to Hateno to finish the election quest line, which is my main goal with Zelda this week. We’ll see how that goes.

Yesterday was also the Xbox showcase and there were a lot of interesting looking games. The top three are easy though.

*Still Wakes The Deep looks basically like The Rig if it was a game. Ok not exactly, bits set on an oil rig, shrouded in mist and there’s something strange going on there. So yeah naturally I’m interested.
*Starfield: which looks amazing and I’m really hyped for it. Making your op own spaceship and exploring the stars looks so cool (though the lack of sentient aliens so far seems… odd but you do get a robot friend!) I’m glad it’s coming to game pass though
*Lastly there was Star Wars Outlaws which was a surprise addition in the first three trailers. It looks so cool and everything I hear about it sounds awesome! There’s gonna be a deeper look into it during the Ubisoft direct tonight but look at this cutie!

This is Nix the main characters lil friend! And I love them already look how cute they are!

Last night the thunderstorm rolled in and I thing it messed with my head because my head went achy and I went up to bed early again (bleh). I hoped it would clear some of this annoying heat but it seems not, which sucks because I can tell it’s gonna be overbearing and stifling if it keeps up.

This week I’m hoping to:
*Finish the last Who Ray stuff to finish the season
*Rewatch the first spider-verse movie (and maybe see the new one depending on weather and cinema)
*Read more Quest For Planet X
*Fic
*Watch the rest of The Empty Man
*Maybe start The Chant
*Finish The Hateno election quest

I am 80% sure I’ll get distracted and won’t be able to do them but… we’ll see.
