It’s just a bolt wound
Jul. 28th, 2022 09:00 pmToday has ended up being an odd day, partly annoying.
But first yesterday, which was also part annoying, part less so. The first of the delayed Loot crates finally arrived. It was the one for Naryu’s namesake and it was a bit… There were a pair of heavy glasses, a pin badge and a notebook (which had nice Naryu art). The main thing of it though was a hoodie which was odd, because it was rather thin. I tried it on today and, despite supposedly being a large, it felt smaller and was hard to take off. The design on it is nice though but it’s a shame.
I went to the launderette which was a waste cause it was closed and then we watched the first episode of Light And Magic on Disney+. It was super interesting and amazing watching the people make all the models of the first Star Wars, as well as what some of them were able to do alone.
The rest of the day was a bit tainted after mum deciding to be bitchy, which was just… meh.
I did try a bao bun though and it was so good! I might have another later. The ones I got are quick to do, only taking 40 seconds to do in the microwave, though it’s odd it has bags for them.
This morning Set It Off’s Midnight arrived, which was good and I’ll have to put it on the lid thing in the morning. Also was a letter that irritated me. It was from the DWP and apparently they’re making a call… only the letter said the call was on the 27th… so yesterday. Only no such call happened. So now I have to, unfortunately, call and chase it up. Which I hate cause calls give me major anxiety and calls from them are worse. Fuckers.
I didn’t today because we went to Birmingham. It looked like we might not go, due to said bitchiness and mum not saying anything when I came down, but we did end up going. Albeit later than I hoped. That meant I didn’t get to go to the museum which was a shame, cause I wanna see what they’ve done to it (and the cinema exhibit sounds interesting) so hopefully I’ll be able to go another time.
I only had a few things in mind that I wanted to get and I managed to get them. I got a Dungeons And Dragons starter kit from Game (I saw there’s gonna be a space thing in a few months and I really wanna figure out how to play it) and got a few things from Forbidden Planet. I got a few graphic novels that were reduced (two Doctor Who, one Invader Zim), two comics (the next Obi-Wan one, which was a variant with Kit Fisto my boy! And Star Wars 25 which is a special issue) and I finally found some micro galaxy squadron (getting Ventress’ starfighter and a blind box which was an AT-RT which… eh, but hey it’s new). I’d hoped to get an Aurra Sing figure cause it was reduced on the site… but not instore oddly.
Main reason we went was to finally see Thor Love And Thunder. There was a huge bunch of trailers beforehand, most of which were a bt uninteresting. There were two which I’m curious about, though I missed their names. One was an obviously queer film (which included a thruple!) and the other had George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as an ex couple trying to mess up their daughters wedding. Thoughts on the film ahoy though.

I’m watching the Commonwealth opening ceremony now. It’s been quite a spectacle and I hope some of the stuff is kept to go on display. Apparently the big bull is meant to be on display somewhere after the games and I hope we can go see it.
Sadly also was the news earlier that Bernard Cribbins had died. He was so sweet in Doctor Who, and so funny in the other things I’d caught him in. It’s so sad.
