Thankfulness

Thanksgiving seems to be a strange kinda holiday. On the one hand the ‘first thanksgiving’ seems like a deeply wrong thing to celebrate. (Unless done in the way it was in Addams Family Values.) But on the other, a day about what you’re thankful for?

(Tommy said in a stream earlier that we just say sorry instead of thanks, maybe that’s right, I dunno)

So in the spirit of the latter, what am I thankful for?

I’m thankful for Naryu and Leia and Midna and Padme, even though they’re all pretty strange girls in their own ways.

I’m thankful that there’s a lot of cool nerdy stuff coming over the coming months. New Star Wars stuff! More new Who! New Pokémon!

I’m thankful for the people that have decided to stick around. I really appreciate that, more than I can say, because people can be and are awful. (But I won’t get side tracked by that.) I’m thankful for Nate and Chai and Terri and saur and so many others who are sweet and kind and just 🖤 I really do care and appreciate you all.

I’m thankful for Heather and Milo, even though they’re a damn ocean away.

I’m thankful that Jay’s back and doing music again.

I’m thankful Nat’s back.

I’m thankful I got my Set It Off ticket and hope that it doesn’t end up being rescheduled again. I’m thankful for Maxx’s streams which are so funny and cute and I’ll miss them during the move/tour.

I’m thankful I’ve not lost anyone to the pandemic. And that out in a village so I’ve been relatively safe from it.

I’m thankful for mum’s friend Joy, who helped us so much during the pandemic by taking me to do the food shop when there simply weren’t slots available.

I’m thankful for mum, despite the recent nonsense.

I’m thankful for people that leave kudos and comments on fics. (I even woke to three comments on ao3 today! Three!)

I’m thankful for Animal Crossing which kept so many of us distracted during the pandemic. And video games in general (especially indie ones which are awesome!) I hope to go on more soon

I’m sure that I’ve completely forgotten someone or something. It is 2am after all. I’m heading up to snuggle and then sleep in a few, hope everyone has a good night.
