Friday Five

So I followed thefridayfive cause someone posted them but I’ve not Done them before so...

1) How is your year going so far?

It’s... going. Recent weeks have been rough cause depression has resulted in a lack of motivation.

2) Have you gotten vaccinated yet? If not, when do you think it's likely to happen?

Not yet and I’ve no idea. I will as soon as I can, provided my allergy doesn’t make it risky.

3) Are you bored or are you busy these days?

Depends on the day. Often a mix of both. Mostly the bored comes from depression or tiredness induced blah ness. Busyness is usually in the form of uni stuff but aforementioned motivation issues have messed that up.

4) Is this pandemic good or bad for your finances?

It depends. It’s better now I’ve got a regular food shop delivery (going in store was frequently overspending). I’ve not had any gigs or streetpass meets and I’ve rarely been anywhere but I've spent stuff online to varying degrees.

5) What are you missing most these days?

Live gigs, I do miss them despite the people. I miss the streetpass meets too. I miss certain people, some that I should some that I shouldn’t.

Song Saturday - Adam Lambert

So since it was Adam’s birthday yesterday I felt it was appropriate for today’s song Saturday to be one of his songs. So here is For Your Entertainment.

Being in the UK I had no idea who Adam was. American Idol wasn’t on here and, to be honest,it’s not the sort of thing I’d probably have watched at the time anyway. It wasn’t until someone linked me to this video that I suddenly become so interested. And let’s me honest, it’s a great song, it’s so sexual, it shows off his voice and he looks damn hot in the video.

I tried to see him love when he did a tour here, but the tickets sold much quicker than I expected and since then he hasn’t really done any other than with Queen. And let’s be honest, he’s a great frontman in Queen. I’ve not seen them live but I’ve seen their new year show years back and a few other things.

He’s so sweet too. I just wanna smush him.

Cause it was his birthday yesterday he put on two live shows, one at 8pm here and one at 3am. Mum heard about it cause of his appearance on Sunday brunch and said that, since her money was going in a few days we should get a ticket. So we got one for the 8pm and mum was pretty looking forward to it.

Unfortunately there was some issues with the stream. For the first few songs it was jittery and skippy (and it wasn’t just us). Refreshing didn’t help and when I contacted the site’s support we got a link to a different version which worked much better. Still it was a little disappointing in that respect. However they also gave us a link to the later show, which I wasn’t gonna watch (cause lateness) but when I mentioned it to mum she said ‘oh I’ll try to stay up for it) so we watched that too.

Alas it had similar issues, though refreshing it did work this time. He was great, though he mostly played new songs (along with some Queen and Starman) though he didn’t play For Your Entertainment which was a bit sad. At the end of the second stream the band gave him a cake which was sweet.

Between streams I managed to finish fic, huzzah! I dunno if the inspiration will continue into other things but we’ll see.

I also watched an ep of Lower Decks and damn, I love this show. If you like Trek in any form watch it, as there is references to every one of the other shows. (Last night even featured a flashback to DS9! and a mention of Trip!)

Today’s been a bit of a lazy day cause we didn’t go to bed till late, plus it’s been pretty grey and wet.

Minors have been assholes in the MCR fandom again although, again, not to me thankfully. What is it with minors in every fandom attacking adults for any form of creativity or writing anything even remotely nsfw? I wish these little fuckers would just go away and leave everyone alone,

I’m gonna watch something soon I think, though I’m not sure what yet.
