At the bottom of the sea
Jul. 19th, 2020 06:18 pmToday has mostly been a lazy day but that’s ok. I’ve read a chapter of my book, had some homemade soup and I’m now catching up on masterchef.
Last night, however, I ended up watching some films and *gasp* going on Fallen Order. So this post is mostly gonna be about all three.
The first film was The Old Guard. I’d heard about it awhile ago and it sounded interesting. It came on Netflix recently so a few of the twitters I follow mentioned it so I figured why not. It was a pretty solid film, about kicking ass along with some of the downsides of immortality. I liked that the cause of the immortality was left a mystery and I’m fairly sure that there’ll be a follow up. It certainly set itself up for one at the end (and there might still be samples to cause trouble too). But of course it was great to see a film where there were two guys together and so in love. (And that they didn’t die! Huzzah!)
After that I ended up going on Fallen Order. I’ve kept meaning to and kept failing at it, which is annoying. I managed to finish off a temple though which was good, but ugh! There’s a lot of backtracking to get back to the ship and I’ll admit, I got lost and then gave up after being killed three times. Maybe I’ll go back on at least to get to the ship.
So I decided then to watch something on Shudder. I’m trying to watch something on there once a week now, cause I’m considering cancelling the sub before it’s due for renewal. Last week’s shudder exclusive The Beach house was pretty good, so I decided to watch another, Scare Package. The synopsis was that it was anthology and, well, anthologies can be hard to get right. They tend to be either really good (vhs, southbound) or awful (abc’s of death). Unfortunately scare package was very much the latter. The tone was kinda a horror comedy but it wasn’t really good as either. It wasn’t that funny and, despite some good effects, it wasn’t particularly scary either. The individual shorts varied from ok to blah, with nothing terribly memorable. (And the end was so nonsensical.) It’s a rare film where I wished I’d watched something else, but I kept watching in case it turned out better.
This week there’s gonna be a few things. The course results are meant to be coming Tuesday but who knows. I’m gonna try and watch more The Umbrella Academy and listen to more magnus Archives. Then there’s the Xbox stream on Thursday which should be worth a watch. There’s a Gerard stream the weekend too though I’m not sure the uk time.
Plus I wanna read more of my book too.
Maybe my writing spark will return too but... I’ve considered signing up to
relationshipping but I’m not sure what to request or offer.
