Call yourself a time lord?
Mar. 24th, 2020 06:22 pmSo last night I watched The Visitation and I’m not sure if it was cause I was tired or what but I didn’t think it was the best. It had a few good parts, like the continuation at the start from Kinda and the Android looked pretty good.
It was another ep where they didn’t get Tegan back home. I know people thought the tardis was ‘crowded’ with three people so why not just drop her off like she wanted? Sigh. I’m gonna watch the special features tonight and then next week is Black Orchid.
I got really tired so I went up after the episode.
The country is now on lockdown. Which... it makes sense. I just hope that businesses heed the advice. If your job isn’t necessary (nhs staff, food and delivery workers etc) then you should be at home. The fact that some businesses are still making people go in pisses me off as does ones not wanting to pay people or give them sick leave. That’s fucking irresponsible. Like I said, we need UBI now.
This crisis is gonna lead to a shake up. There’s already talk of the points based immigration system being changed due to the realisation that ‘low skilled’ workers are actually essential. It’s a shame it’s took this to realise it but...
It seems uni is going forward with the group thing which seems a bit.... stupid. I hope concessions are made for people that are sick or having a hard time with it. I’m gonna look into it Thursday probably, after I’ve started the final book.
The new Who magazine is coming out next week and it’s all about season 14. I’m glad I’m subscribed cause I’m super looking forward to it. I need to read the xbox magazine about resident evil 3 (even though I won’t be getting it and still haven’t got 2. It’s in the games with gold sale but... I dunno)
Today we were gonna walk to sainsburys which meant getting a small shop, but before I came down mum had a call from her friend at work offering to take us which was... so good. It meant we could get a stock of things up. There were still empty shelves and not much frozen stuff, but we got fresh veg and such. I also got the faceless ones, which I’ll watch this week sometime I think.
I also went to boots to get my meds... but they were put there. So I’ve had to have them delivered but the charge is insane. £5 delivery! That’s absurd! But I need them, my anxiety is crazy.
Today is disney+ release day and I considered watching something but a: I was tired and 2: I’m waiting on my bf to send me their log in info.
I’m gonna snuggle and watch bake off and do some more animal crossing, which I’m still loving so much🖤
I’m sure I had something else to ramble about but my mind is blank now, so I’m gonna leave it there,

Date: 2020-03-24 07:33 pm (UTC)Um, I assume they are doing so remotely, with no face to face element involved? Which will be a sod, but at least safe.
We have been told that extensions to PhDs will be looked upon favourably in the aftermath of zombie plague flu (I am not optimistic about my fieldwork, which is due to start...now). Which, doesn't really help anyone right now, but thanks?
I'm going to try and write something. I have no idea what, the last week has fried my brain, but I'd really like to produce some words!

Date: 2020-03-27 07:59 pm (UTC)Perfect description of The Visitation! The only thing I like about it is Richard Mace. He's so laid back and fun.
I guess your uni is trying to carry on as usual as much as possible. Which is a good idea in theory but in practice not so much. At least not when the situation is so very UNusual as it is right now. Good luck with it in any case!
I bought The Faceless Ones and The Macra Terror recently but I haven't had the time to wach either of them yet.
