So I’m gonna do the thoughts on the Who ep now because... damn (don’t go under the cut if you’ve not seen it yet)

So, Fugitive Of The Judoon was a lot and a lot of unexpected stuff.

First off, the Judoon are back! Yay! I’ve always had a certain fondness for them and I was glad when they shown up in the Sarah Jane Adventures eps. They’ve not had an appearance for awhile though. My thought on the ep, and how it seemed going in, was it was going to be a variation of Smith And Jones, their first ep. I figured the Judoon would be after an alien in hiding on earth, in their own brutish way of course.

In a way I was right. In another way I was wrong.

I expected that the fugitive would turn out to be the guy (I’ve forgot his name already) but it didn’t turn out that way. It turned out to be Ruth, his partner, instead. But let’s get to that later.

First, I loved the Judoon. It was nice that they had the ship and tech of their first appearance and that we got to see inside it. I still love them. I still dunno why.

When Graham vanished, I wasn’t sure what had happened to him. I certainly didn’t think he’d end up being stolen by Captain Jack Harkness who, thinking he was the Doctor, promptly kissed him. I seriously squeed at his appearance and I’m so glad that he’s back (please let him appear again!). Over the course of the ep he tried to get the Doctor but just got her companions. He did manage to give them a message, about the ‘last cyberman’ and not to give it what it wants. What does it mean? And an alliance? I’m intruiged and I really, reallly REALLY hope he comes back. And damnit nanogenes.

(As an aside there was a rumour floating round that Jack was gonna be back, but I dismissed it. Seems they kept it well hidden as the master reveal. Who knows what else they have hidden)

With her companions gone that meant that the rest of the ep was the Doctor with Ruth, going to a lighthouse to discover who she was. Now when she broke the glass my instant thought, for some reason, was a chameleon circuit. In the few moments that followed I thought she might turn out to be the Rani (another renegade time lord like the master, which would make sense) but instead.... she turned out to be the doctor. At first I thought it was a trick of some kind, but nope that seems not to be the case. Indeed the person that hired the Judoon was a fellow Gallifreyan (damn I wish she hadn’t died I want answers).

So what does this mean? Well either this Ruth Doctor is before the first Doctor or she’s between the second and third incarnation. There’s long been a theory that the Doctor was being put to work by the time lords before being exiled to Earth, so maybe this is proof of that. Of course it raises further questions. Why was she hiding on Earth? What had she done? What did the time lords want with her?

I have no idea but a I want to find out.

Next week doesn’t seem to be anything that’s gonna give answers, but... who knows. With an ep like this turning out so unexpectedly who knows?

So it's useful there have been all those rumours, ha!

The Cyberman thing seems like it could also be a season finale thing. It definitely looks like this season has an arc! :-D I WANT MORE RUTH!DOCTOR!!! I want to know what her story is! And if she's an alternate universe version or something, I want her to get her own spinoff!
