Stabby boi
Dec. 30th, 2019 09:56 pmToday has been very tiring. The time seemed to fly by.
We left for the 10am train and were back at about half 6.
I spent the Birmingham trip mostly listening to music, just Coheed And Cambria and, well, resting. when we got there first stop was the Forbidden Planet by the station. Alas it didn’t have TUA funkos other than Luther and Five, and no Rise Of Kylo (the other one didn’t either) but I got a free things. I got two blind boxed funkos, though ended up with FO disguise Rose which I already had but the other one was Solo. I also got TUA calendar and two Potter bag charms (though they came up the wrong price but they fixed it). And a cheap comic.
Next was a winding trip to the other Forbidden Planet. It started by going through TK Maxx and I got a cuddly platypus, Harry Potter Lego/book set and chocolate pasta. After that we stopped to look briefly in Pandora and then going to Ryman’s to pick up the free books from Radio Times. Thankfully both were there, a Tiger Who Came To Tea book and Dracula (which, later, mum started to read!).
Then we went to Forbidden Planet (which is the proper one). I hoped to get some Black series figures (two were on the site for £9.99) but they weren’t there, not that I was surprised. I did get Kaz though, who I love from Resistance even though he’s an absolute idiot. They had TUA funkos there, an almost full set though there was no Klaus or Ben. They did have Diego, so of course I got him. After checking downstairs (no Rise of Kylo) but I got a book about Cisco and the Empire Ascendant comic.
Next was heading to the bullring. I stopped in the works but didn’t get anything (and they’re moving the store again! Literally just across the road and the new store was open) I kinda wish I’d got the moon oracle cards though, or one of the colouring sets. Maybe Cannock will have them if we go to see a film later this week (Rise Of Skywalker again or Frozen 2 maybe).
Next was the new Lego shop. It’s a nice place and mum loves the big falcon. They didn’t have any poly bags though that I saw (or the Spider-Man set with Ned that I could see boo). First time we got an ornament with a penguin in it, a brick heads Halloween ghost and one of the the Disney minifigs. The guys at the till were nice enough to feel for me and found me a Jack! (the pumpkin king!) I headed back later as mum wanted to get me one of the new battle packs, so I got the sith trooper one (since they didn’t have the Mandalorian one).
Then we headed to the entertainer. I was hoping to get the Resistance y-wing from there, especially after seeing it in the Lego store (entertainer had it for £20 less!) but it wasn’t there. In fact they barely had any Lego because it’s being closed for refurbishment, booo. I did get the funkos of Poe and Finn I hoped for, as well as the Cal one. (Because of the refurbishment I got an extra 25%!). Disney, alas, was a bust. They hardly had any Star Wars stuff which is surprising and disappointing but ah well.
After going in selfridges (mum ended up talking to cashiers because there was a set with no price) we stopped off at the bank and went in HMV. HMV is also closing because it’s moving to the bigger store which... is odd. But they didn’t have any bargains really like the entertainer. I got a cuddly Wampa though, as well as a porg mug and Wrath Of Khan blu ray. We also went in Debenhams and they had the Harry Potter Lego advent calendar for half price so I had to get it.
Then there was food, just McDonald’s but we needed it (somehow it was already after 3 wtf?). Noms were great fun and then we popped in m and s, getting some food and a tie fighter thing, which has shower gel in, but I don’t want to open it. Then there was B and M and ahhhhh! They have the galaxy mini eggs! Yes! I had to get some. Last stop was Poundland to get a drink and leads for mum.
It was on the train that mum noticed that one of the doors of the Potter calendar was open. Alas door one was missing the Harry figure, so I’ve had to ask for a replacement boo. When we got back I went through the rest of it to make sure everything else was there and it was. There’s quite a few nice things in there, including a snowman, Christmas tree and chest with cool things. And there’s benches with a feast! I put them around the hogwarts express which looks nice.
Now I’m tired and snuggled up. I might write later or just snuggle but right now we’re watching Indiana Jones.
I’m glad that last night I managed to fic and I watched Deathgasm on horror which was pretty good! Hot metal boys ftw! Though we need more gay horror, they shoulda kissed (and al3 only has three fics for them wtf!)

Date: 2019-12-31 11:19 pm (UTC)Yeah :( Last year with the Star Wars one I had an issue with that too. Even though that was all sealed up I had one missing figure (instead getting a double of a snowman) so I had to get a replacement and they were nice and sorted it quick
