Some of the politics for me was how the writers wanted it both ways; they had Supergirl's universe have the female alien president because they're so Good and Inclusive and then Maggie's dad was saying how the politicians and society were all racist and homophobic and it was becoming very unsubtle and overtly current American politics.
Thank you, I've been on the fence about talking about these things because again, tumblr, lots of But Women Want Sex and Babies How Dare You Disagree attitudes showing up with the younger crowd.
