Spooky season day 3: dreamlight valley star path, VHS Halloween (thoughts here

Friday’s main spooky thing was VHS Halloween, but there was also a new Star Path on Dreamlight Valley. It’s for Halloween so I’m counting it and this one’s Witchful Thinking. As the name implies it’s mostly witchy stuff, drawing inspiration from Hocus Pocus. None of the tasks so far are especially spooky but since the stuff is I’m counting it.

Spooky season day 4: Ghost Files, Sheeple Chase, Doctor Who Audio Forty Five: False Gods

Saturday was mostly a lazy day watching Murder she wrote and spooky stuff only really came in later. I guess you could count Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue (cause someone else did die under suspicious circumstances). I’m still not sure who it is, but I knew the one guy’s luggage was going to be his luchador fit and that’s why he was so protective. I am wondering if it might pull a double bluff. The assume is that the one body not in said morgue is the killer right? But what if it’s not? It could be that the killer is one of the bodies, beaten by one of the others who flees into the jungle. (But that’s just a theory)

More definitely spooky was new ghost files, not that anything spooky happened in this one still it was. A nice location. Less definitely spooky was Sheeple Chase, which is a spin off from Magnus Archives about conspiracy theories, with this ep being about dead singer replacements.

Lastly was a Doctor audio. Forty Five, like Demons Of Red Lodge, is a set of four one part stories and I listened to the first. I did enjoy it, though it was A Lot happening. But it was set in Egypt and had Benedict Cumberbatch doing a voice (the tardis wiki says during a lunch break recording he auditioned for Sherlock which is crazy)

None spooky stuff yesterday, my Black Series Qimir came! He was due to come on my birthday, then when I checked my money a few days ago I saw the money for him had been taken out so I knew he was coming early. And ahh he looks so cool! I’m so glad that they did him and it feels like they went all out. He has a poncho, soft goods for his robes, his lightsaber and the lil one, plus two heads. (Which makes me tempted to get another so I can display him with his helmet on and off but I doubt I will) I need to take pics of him and with Yord.

Plus it has made me wanna do that rewatch of The Acolyte again.

Also there was Strictly and I love La Voix and Alex, but damn George’s dance was my fav (and his fit!). And thank fuck Tom was the one to leave tonight, I bet everyone was glad he was in the bottom two.

Today I watched High Potential to catch up and damn it’s such a great show Morgan is so awesome. Then I watched a Futurama ep which was fun and a lil silly, with people floating into the sky.

Then I watched Wednesday since Dnd got postponed. This was the camping trip ep and was pretty good though it did have Morticia and Gomez in it together and I just… do not buy the romance there at all. It’s really bizarre. I am curious how the mystery of the season is gonna pan out and I love Eugene and Pugsley together. (And Thing! Lego have done a set of the apartment Enid made and it’s so cute)

Tonight I put on A Haunting In Venice cause I’d not seen it since I saw in the cinema. Mum drifted off as I suspected, but I still think it’s the best of the Branagh Poirot films. Like I’m still not sold on him as Poirot but at least with this one it’s somewhere different and I love the haunted house setting. It is meant to be an adaption of Halloween Party but I feel like it’s one of those adaptions that uses character names and little else (I mean it’s set in Venice instead of England for some reason?) but I still love the whole spooky vibe it has going for it. Plus I do like Tina Frey’s Ariadne, it’s a shame she probably won’t be in another cause I liked how they worked together.

And so another week ends. Next week is a little hazy on plans, with Monday being the only concrete day. Mum’s friend is coming in the morning (alas, which means I can’t start uni reading until Tuesday) and in the late afternoon/night is the cinema trip (for Him and the mystery film).

On Tuesday I’ll firm up what my plans are because there’s three things.
*There’s seeing The Long Walk (which may be Wednesday or Thursday)
*There’s a store opening in Birmingham on Friday so I’m thinking of going (they’re giving out goodie bags which I’m curious about cause the store has Sanrio and Pokémon stuff). If I do this I wouldn’t stay in Birmingham long, basically looking in the Lego store at new stuff, popping in hmv and Forbidden Planets, then heading to town to the cinema (for Tron Ares and maybe something else)
*Saturday (and Sunday) is the Birmingham Horror Film Festival. I’m feeling I won’t go to it though. If it was in Birmingham itself I might have but as it’s a second train away I’m doubting it’s worth it. Plus it’d be a long day, there’s no guarantee of their being good food and it might just be A Lot in general. (Can you tell I did a pro/con list?) If someone I’d wanna see is announced I might change my mind but that feels doubtful.

Other than that, it’s starting uni, seeing what’s in prime day (hoping for a micro sad, or some other stuff), poke my fic brain and maybe watch K Pop Demon Hunters finally. (I blame strictly and Fortnite) plus getting back to Hades II. We’ll see if I do any of that though.

I agree with every word!

You have some good plans, but yeah, that would make for a long day going to the film festival.

I will happily talk Strictly with you. I was a mad keen fan but losing interest a bit after 20 years. I like the middle section, when all the so so dancers have left, we have about 8 remaining, but it's not the claws out final few weeks when people are desperate to win 😊

Yes if I know the contestants it's more interesting. But if it's just a bunch of YouTubers I haven't heard of, it's not so consuming.

This year I am supporting Stefan Dennis because he is the long running star of Neighbours, my favourite soap.

I LOVE themed weeks. Especially Movie Week coming up! And Musicals.

I don't really like show dances because it strikes me as unfair that a show dance is judged against a classic dance. How can they possibly comment on them? They should have all show dances in one week IMO.

I have been caught up in Strictly for the last 20 years! Argh. But I'm not so keen this year. It's on every day so I'm only dipping into it this year. Still nice to see the dances though and follow it intermittently.

Oh yes I know Alex and La Voix is great. Showing diversity and breaking boundaries.

I think Movie Week is my favourite theme.

I wonder if they will have a Show Dance Week some day when they are all done at the same time.

Yes I used to religiously watch every episode every day but it's too tiring now and I just have it on if I feel like it.

I really think they could have Show Dance Week and judge them all together, it would be fairer. I've just realised I am talking nonsense. I mean COUPLES CHOICE week. Not Show Dance 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️Sorry.

Hope you enjoy Movie Week tonight! 💃🕺
