Yeah, why did they make them werewolf-things? Beyond just the surface-level silliness, why would you have a monster that only transforms when it's much hotter AND THEN GIVE IT FUR? It is so weird! It definitely feels like they smushed two ideas together that don't actually fit.
I did like the mirror verse parts of this story. That was fascinating, especially when you back to the real world and the Doctor has to convince everyone to listen to him, but now we KNOW what the stakes are. It's well-paced in the end, I thought. But the monsters. Were so silly.
That's kind of a thing with Doctor Who though, isn't it? Great actors, decent writing, interesting ideas, VERY silly monsters.
