Another snowflake day already!

Well the first thing that comes to mind is something I mentioned a few posts ago (the one right before snowflake). I watched a film last weekend, called The Empty Man, and it made me wanna watch some investigation style horror like The Ring or Archive 81. So does anyone have any rec for stuff like that?

Or recs for Asian horror, cosmic horror or found footage stuff? Ideally on the uk Netflix/shudder/amazon prime/disney+. (Or hell, any good recs from those places in general)

Speaking of recs does anyone have recs for songs from the bands on Slam Dunk this year? I only know 6 of them, so I wanna see if any are any good to try and catch. (The five I’m gonna see are Set It Off, Waterparks, Funeral For A Friend, The Blackout and Palaye Royale, plus there’s You Me At Six, the latter who I do not wanna see at all for reasons)

(Or any music recs in general)

I’m also wondering if anyone plays Fall Guys or Fortnite, cause those often have quests that need other people which is annoying cause I don’t know people who play. Fortnite especially is fun lately with its new modes, I’ve been playing Fortnite Festival this week and it’s really fun, it’s made me realise how much I’ve missed doing rhythm based games.

One thing I mentioned hoping to gain in the first snowflake posts is new friends here on dreamwidth so if you post about Star Wars, Doctor Who or QSMP related streamers (or Eret, James Marriott or Shoto), or some bands (Waterparks, Weathers, Set Ir Off, Sleep Token) then say hi!

I’m sure there could be something more specific/personal, but my brain is a bit mush. Maybe I’ll add something along this lines later, or to the next post.

In a general sense of a fandom wish I just wish that fandoms were kinda, that people weren’t so bitchy, that creators (both making shows/films and fan creators) were respected and valued as they should be. So show some creators some love, with comments and such. And if you are a creator, then I send creative vibes.

For now I’m gonna bundle up, hope to get Jago merch (it got delayed from Wednesday so please send luck) and hopefully work on fic some too

I can give you some I Prevail recs later when I'm at my computer but genuinely idk a single song by Asking Alexandria and I deffo want to see them because they were great fun when I saw them at a festival last year! They just had an overall good vibe to them so I just rec going to see them in general. The singer was such a genuine guy 🥰

But hey, five bands so far! Theyre going to add more and I already know it's stupid hoping for Atreyu but a girl can still dream

Yeah of course! I’ve heard the name before and when I hear them I’m sure they’ll sound familiar! But awww that’s nice! That’s always good to hear!

I’ll have to do some recs for you too! I might do song Saturdays for each band between now and then with their songs I like 👀

These are all great wishes. I can't help with recs, but fandom is a great and wonderful thing so I'm sure there are people out there who can. :)

Hi, I saw your link on the snowflake_challenge post and as a found footage and Asian horror fan I thought I'd offer a couple of recommendations.

- Hell House LLC is on Shudder and is a mockumentary about events that transpired on a Halloween in a haunted house attraction where something went very wrong and people died. It's actually a series of four movies now, with the most recent being Hell House LLC: The Carmichael Manor and they're all available on UK Shudder.

- Lake Mungo is an Australian found footage/mockumentary movie about a family dealing with the death of their daughter and the possibility that her ghost is haunting them. It's also on UK Shudder.

- Noroi: The Curse used to be on Shudder but appears to have been taken off for the moment, but it's so good I'm recommending it anyway in the hope that it comes back onto streaming somewhere. It's another found footage mockumentary about a paranormal researcher who, while investigating several seemingly unrelated strange occurrences, finds that they seem to linked together to a dangerous demon and its cult.

Yes genuinely I'd see them over and over despite not knowing many songs. Should probably fix that lol. They just seemed to be having a lot of fun and like I said, the singer was just lovely! Think it was their first time in Finland too and they were so excited haha.

I feel I might have seen Hell House once, but I might have to check it out again (and watch the sequels! I didn’t realise there was so many!)

I’ve not seen Lake Mungo but the name is familiar so I must’ve seen someone rec it or mention it! I’ll have to add it to my list and see it soon

NOROI! That’s such an awesome film I love it so much (though boo I hope it’s back on shudder soon I meant to do a rewatch recently) its one of those films that’s just done so well, it completely nails the vibes and it’s so 💜

I know I’ve done some for song Saturday before but I’ll definitely do some more! I’ve not listened to Palaye or The Blackout in awhile though oop

Admittedly I'm not as well-versed in Asian horror as I could be, but I really enjoyed Dark Water (2002) and Shutter (2004)!

Yeah it’s a bit tricky to get into, but there’s so many good ones! Ohh I think I’ve seen Dark Water (I think I might have the dvd) and someone else recced Shutter too which is a good sign👀
