Spring has sprung

The past week has been strange, it’s felt like one of those weeks that has gone by in no time at all. Maybe it has.
In general this week I’ve not had much luck with uni stuff. We have to use a model thing and I soon realised that I didn’t trust the pad to do it. As such I intended to use the laptop to do it but.. haven’t actually opened it up. Ugh.
Monday I went to pick up meds and I went into Tk Maxx for the first time in months. There wasn’t much exciting there and some sections have been moved around which seems puzzling. I did get some pet advent calendars and Naryu seemed to like the stuff in hers (the kitties didn’t seem bothered really).
In Search of Monsters was about the chupacabra, and I didn’t realise there was two kinds. I only thought there was a lizardy kind but that’s apparently just on Puerto Rico and on the mainland it looks more dog like, strange.
Tuesday the food shop came, but I also decided to pop into home bargains before hand cause the cats needed their dry food from there. There wasn’t much too exciting there, though I do wish I’d picked up something I’d seen and will next time I go back.
I finished the first season of the Penumbra podcast and, damn, I just wanted to slap Juno at the end of it because what an idiot. Leaving Peter without even a note? What an ass.
Wednesday I actually read some Light Of The Jedi, which I keep meaning to do every weekday afternoon. (Another thing I keep meaning to do is watch Falcon and the winter soldier, I’m still a few eps behind). Before that though we watched The X-Files and were at season 2 now with those eps being Scully’s abduction and return (and the weird vampire ep in between). It’s still strange seeing Krycek all... straight laced and respectable (I’m still sore he died later in the series).
Thursday when we walked the pup we saw that there were babies on the pools! There’s some little coots and some ducklings. I didn’t have the pad with me to take pics alas, but did get some today!
In the night I decided to check out Stowaway which came out on Netflix yesterday because it space (and yeah I have many things to watch, including Space Sweepers but eh). It was pretty good in some ways, a bit lacking in others. The titular stowaway was one of the things I had issue with, because he was there seemingly by accident. You mean to say that a space agency would seriously not do a headcount of their techs that worked on their rocket? And then the ending was just... unsatisfying and felt a but sudden.
(Speaking of space, Intergalactic is coming to Sky 1 next week and it looks interesting. The description gives me Farscape vibes so I’m very curious.)
I planted some seeds I got months ago and one lot of them have grown! The type of grass shoes no signs of growth yet but the cosmos have sprouted and grown quite a bit this week. We need to plant some other seeds soon too.
Today mum’s friend came so I spent longer upstairs to avoid he loudness. When she was gone we went to walk the pup, though on the way back mum’s cardigan, which she’d stool off, had got dropped and we’d not realised until we got home. That meant when I had to backtrack to try and find it, which I managed to but I was tired by the time I got back home.
Anyone onto what you’re really here for: baby animals!

First off these are the baby coots, there’s two of them with their parents. These are on the first of two pools pretty close together (there’s literally a few meters between them). Also in this pool is a pair of geese and one is on the nest on an island in the middle. For some reason Naryu loves the geese and this is the pool she jumped in after them. But anyway! The coots are so fuzzy!

This is the second lot of coots, which were further away in the reeds so I had to zoom in on them. There’s at least two babies with them, though I think yesterday I also saw a third move in the reeds. These are all on the second pool

So here’s the ducklings! Look how cute and smol and fuzzy! It’s just the mum with them (and they surrounded her before I took the pad out). When I saw them yesterday there was 9, but today I only saw 6. I’m not sure what happened to them, but I’m hoping they were just nearby and hiding (as you can see they hid in the reeds near her!) they were so sweet and it was just so nice that I got close to them. I was about a forearm length away from them for some of these and just 🖤
On this second pool there’s also a pair of swans with a nest (with the Male swan being territory and mean, even bullying the geese even though they’re on the other pond) but he was close to the nest today, probably a good idea because there is at least one heron about.
But yeah there’s some pretty nature and babies and 🖤
