Sep. 12th, 2025 03:33 pmPast days have, again, been love energy.i was surprisingly tired after the trip Monday and then Wednesday I went to pick up mum’s meds. This proved tiring as I picked up potatoes for her which ended up being so heavy it drained me.
I did go in tk and, alas, it had none of the cute ghost things I saw before. I was hoping to get one but they seem to have gone already. Sadly I doubt I’ll be back to check if they get restocked. I had also hoped to get a Lego set from Argos, the Animal Crossing Dodo airlines, but alas it wasn’t there.
On the plus side I got the first issue of Disney paint by numbers, cause it was 99p so I might start that one time (though I wish it wasn’t Bambi, Bambi’s cute but not one of the things I like much… in fact I’ve not seen it in ages). Also I did get a Lego animal crossing set from sainsburys, Leif’s caravan which was even chreaper than expected when I got to the till. It’s a nice lil set, despite the ‘garden shop’ being too small. I posted thoughts/pics of it (and Goldie’s cozy house) on insta.
The horror film festival has got info on the films posted, however I only skimmed through and there’s an error (the same synopsis is used twice). It’s mostly two blocks of short films then a full length one so I’ll look properly when that’s sorted and debate going then.
There’s been deliveries too, of some comics I got (a random bunch, some which are spooky/horror coded and some that included two Star Wars ones, a random variant and Solo issue 1). Today there was the new Doctor Who magazine, along with dice sets I backed on kickstarted. They’re nice (especially the crystal like one) and the metal d20’s in them are pretty. Plus the one that was a random bunch of dice has a cute d4 with a lil shell in.
Today was the Nintendo direct, which was an hour long. The first 20 minutes (give or take) was Mario focussed cause of the anniversary. Oddly there’s not a new mainly Mario game, or dlc for Mario kart. Instead Mario wonder is getting a switch 2 update/dlc next year, Mario Galaxy 1+2 is coming next month, the new Mario film is confirmed for next year as Super Mario Galaxy and there’s a Mario Tennnis game coming out (which has an adventure mode??). There’s also Mario galaxy amiibo which look nice and a talking flower from Mario wonder which looks cute.
While there wasn’t a Mario game, there was a Yoshi one which looked very cute called Yoshi and mysterious book which I did love the look of.
Then there was the rest of the direct. A big theme of it was ‘spring 2026’ which felt like the release date for… so many things. Highlights/things that caught my interest:
*Hades 2 has a date! It’s coming 25th of September, for both versions of the switch
*Hyrule Warriors has a release for November 6th and there’s a cute korok playable character
*Tomodachi life is coming out spring, it looks nice
*Pokemon ZA has new mega evolutions for other starter Pokémon, which is a surprise. It’s also getting dlc which feels premature to add
*Donkey Kong Bananza also has dlc, releasing today! It looks fun but feels wild to have some already
*the direct ended on Fire Emblem which looked cool but felt like a strange choice.
I’m sure I missed others that I was curious about.
However! I think my highlight, or at least new game highlight, was Pokémon Pokopia. It felt extremely animal crossing coded, with the player character being a ditto and making homes for Pokémon. It looks so incredibly cute and I’m hyped for it.
Also switch 2 is getting the brand new Resident Evil game which felt like such a shock.
But overall pretty good direct and I am hyped for all of those things.
I’m still not decided on going to town tomorrow. I might, but it depends on my energy and, more importantly, if it’s raining.
Now though I’m gonna flop, then watch the proms tonight and maybe game/fic/watch something. No doubt though I’ll just zone out.
