Feb. 8th, 2024 04:19 pmSo as I mentioned in yesterday’s post we were meant to get the washer sorted today, which I hoped would sort the stress.
Guess what’s happened?
So this morning we had a call saying that they would be coming in 40 minutes (even though the rain was here), so I came down to wait and sure enough they came. I stayed on the sofa holding Naryu while mum went and talked to them.
The man came in, mum showed him the way to the kitchen and where the washer was, she showed him the paperwork they wanted (ironically she got a pension one this morning) and had the card ready for the first payment). Then the guy had a phone call. Apparently there was another woman that was waiting and was anxious, so he asked, since they were near to us if it would be ok to sort that first. Mum agreed and off he went.
Ten minutes later there was a phone call from the company saying that they wouldn’t be sending the washer. When mum asked why the guy had no reason to offer her. Mum got angry, even swore, at being messed around and hung up.
We’ve heard nothing since and the guy hasn’t come back.
Now if he’d said ‘it’s taking longer to help this lady could he come another time’ fine. If he said he couldn’t come because of the bad weather, fine. If there was an issue with the guys van, fine. But no they said nothing about the reasoning and I think that’s what’s most galling.
They’ve made mum go through so many hoops. Saturday they said they wouldn’t do it cause all she has is a pension. Then they called back and said they were looking into it. Then Monday they said yes. Then yesterday with the paperwork. And now this. It’s like what? What is the issue.
So now it looks like we’re back to square one with it. It’s been over five hours now (close to 6) and we’ve heard nothing so I’m sure we won’t.
I’m just so annoyed, like who does that? I’d hoped this would end the stress but of course it’s made more and now we might have to look into somewhere else but I dunno.
