It’s all about intent
Jun. 28th, 2023 12:12 pmI had intended to p do some more posts for June something or June happy stuff but the heat has just been so overpowering it’s been hard to think(p (or focus, or put things into words) which has been so annoying.
The worst was yesterday when I had intended on doing a few things (some I was planning to do Monday but was too drained to) and instead I woke with a terrible headache. I stayed up for as long as possible and when it eased I came down… only for it to return again just as the food shop arrived. Pretty much as soon as everything was in I ended up going back up to lay down again.
Thankfully it eased up by the night and has, mostly, faded now but… ugh.
The weekend was when I was most productive, despite the heat.
I was thinking of seeing spiderverse Saturday but, again, there was thunderstorm warnings so I decided not to. Said storm hasn’t materialised but the air is hanging so it feels like one could happen any time. Maybe that’s what’s effecting my head. Anyway, instead of seeing spiderverse I ended up watching three films instead.
*Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull: The last of the Indiana films in the rewatch before we go see Dial Of Destiny (hopefully Saturday). I still enjoy it, I think it’s fun and entertaining. I don’t quite get why people hate on it as much, even though Mutt is kinda annoying. I do wonder if some of the ending is gonna be undone though
*Entrapment: Which wasn’t something I intended to watch but it was on tv and figured it’d be worth a watch. It was entertaining enough but nothing too special really
*The Mummy Returns: I wanted to watch this again after rewatching the first one a little while ago. Again it’s entertaining and fun but kinda… lacks something? I dunno if that makes sense. It also feels a bit strange in the opening backstory that the scorpion king and Anubis’ armies (why is Anubis an antagonist? I’m sure there’s a different Egyptian deity that actually is antogonistic, but I guess whoever they are isn’t as cool as ‘jacket headed’ warriors) and they rain destruction on to…. Vanish into the sands which feels kinda pointless. Anyway I’m gonna watch the third one at some point soon too (I dunno if mums seen it I know I have at least once). Has anyone seen the scorpion king films? Are they worth watching?
Over the last few games I also did a bit of gaming too.
*Genshin Impact: I decided to start it a few days ago and it’s pretty good, I’d resisted for awhile mainly because it was meant to be coming to switch (and the old pad couldn’t play it because of space) but after starting star rail I was curious so decided to try it. You can tell it’s by the same people that made star rail (the layout of the UI is the same, menus and such are the same) but in other ways it’s different (like combat being real time). It also feels kinda breath of the wild inspired (statues instead of towers opening maps up, wall climbing, a glider). And there’s also pretties (Kaeya is so hot!). So I’ve been enjoying it and I’ll definitely be going back on later
*The Chant: I had hoped to finish it by now but my focus hasn’t been up to it. I should finish it tonight because I only have one chapter to go. I’m in a bit of two minds about the game as a whole though. I love the concept and some of the creature designs are unique and there’s definitely some good ideas here, but in some parts it’s frustrating (like some of the fights and the lack of storage for crafting items, as well as how hard some are to find). I admit I’ve ended up using a guide (although amusingly there was a section where it was like ‘if you cross this wood plank bridge you will end up falling’ only I ended up to cross it fine and even got an achievement by sheer luck). I expect the last chapter will be short with just a last boss fight but we’ll see.
*Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom: I finally did another temple! I’d been slowly making my way up to the wind temple and got there on Saturday, ending up completing it which was pretty fun. Once it was done I ended up doing a bit of random exploring and I think this week I’ll do something else before heading to the next temple. I’m either gonna finally explore Kakariko or start the house quest line.
I also used some of the Xbox credit I’d hoarded to get stuff in the sale, both stuff from my wishlist. Sheepo, which looks cute and Song Of Horror, which looks and sounds scary. The later I’ll save for spooky season, becaus I think after The Chant I’ll need to do something else on the Xbox (maybe get back to Hi-Fi Rush, or Dreamlight, or ESO)
The Edge magazine I ordered came Saturday and I read the article on Still Wakes The Deep Sunday (one of the few things I did then) and it definitely gives off The Rig vibes like I expected. It’s quite an in depth article too while at the same time being careful not to actually reveal anything. It’s definitely gonna be something I get next year as soon as it comes out.
Monday I didn’t do much, though I did build up the Pikachu I got last week, which is very cute.
Today we walked the pup and saw a lil baby frog hop along the path, which we’d also seen the last time we went that way. I wish I’d got a pic but I had no pad today (and didn’t think to last time) but they were so cute and smol.
My head is feel a tad fuzzy, though not as bad as yesterday, so I’m gonna have some noms, hope it settles and, if so, do some things I was gonna do yesterday,
