Where I go he goes
Oct. 30th, 2020 02:30 pmSo I watched the new episode of the Mandalorian...
Perhaps unsurprisingly the main scene from the trailers is shown in the first few minutes of the trailer (where the Child closes his hover pram at the fighting arena) which got to show the Mandalorian kicking ass again. His reason for being there was searching for other Mandalorians (though I’m not sure why exactly he thinks that would be useful) the lead he gets sends him to Tatooine (although a planet is hardly a lead).
A reunion with Peli and her droids ensues, which is good cause I liked her. Plus there was bonus R5-D4 yay! This lead him out to a town in search of a Mandalorian, which turned out to be Cobb Vanth (introduced in the Aftermath books!) and his town. And then the surprise appearance of a Krayt dragon occurs. At first I thought it was something new, something akin to the things from Tremors, but it was confirmed to be a krayt by Tuskens.
The Mandalorian showed his diplomacy getting the town and tuskens to work together, and then he rallied them much like he did on Sorgan in series 1. (In fact this ep reminded me of that one that the prior Tatooine one, as well as the one with the a mud horn.)
It was a quite epic fight, but the end also shown that the writers knew old EU stuff. When the tuskens were carving it up they found a Krayt dragon pearl, something mentioned in the tales of jabba’s palace book!
I half expected the Mandalorian to leave the Armor with Cobb, after all he did earn it. I’m wondering where he’s intending to take it because (as the last shot revealed) it’s owner is very much alive. I suspect we’ll see more of him this season.
As always the child was so adorable and cute and I love him. He didn’t have much to do this time plot wise, but that was oki.
I’m excite for how this season will go! And I have the Mandalorian theme firmly in my head.
