Yeah, he seems to be on a completely different page to the others, only thinking of himself whilst the others are looking at the bigger picture.

Yeah, it's kind of like this weird paradox. He wants to wash his hands of the band, wants to leave, but doesn't like that they will be carrying on without him because he still wants the attention. I'm truly fascinated by this version of Matt, haha.
I think you're right, whilst Matt believes what he said to Lucas I do feel it was a spur of the moment kneejerk response because he's fed up of this fanboy telling him that he's disappointed in him, heh.
