Good news, bad news

So there's good news and bad news.
zgood news first: two deliveries came. First was Splatoon 3 (i ordered it the day before realising the pad definitely needed replacing and by the it was too late to stop. It's pretty good so far and it's definitely something I needed. Big man is awesome, I love him. Other good news: despite not being told it was even coming the pad arrived, yay!
Or rather less yay cause here's where the bad news sets in.
First the lead included with the pad had no effect on the old one. Which means... yeah it's dead, and I'll need to take it somewhere to get everything from it. The likeliest place is the Apple store in Birmingham, which isn't exactly ideal and I don't even know if they could do anything.
Second, I tried to use the ID e-mail I had for the old pad.... and it's promptly been locked because I couldnt rememebr the password and went through everything I could think of beforee it locked on me. I could try recovering it, but the trouble is the associated phone number is... a mystery. Fuck.
So I'm not exactly sure what I should do. Should I call and try and make an appointment or can I just show up? I'm not even sure they could do anything and I'm less sure there's money to pay for a new battery. I'd hoped having access to that account would at least give me access to... files and stuff on the cloud but nope. Fuck.
I might just have to set up a new ID temporatiily cause you can always switch it right? Ugh this whole thing is a nightmare
