I quit Supergirl over the Alex Danvers storyline. There was hope she'd come out as ace - and what it would have meant for a very 'normal' woman who had an important job (overseeing alien stuff including working with her sister Kara/Supergirl), kicked butt, and drank whiskey, to be asexual! - but she came out as gay after meeting Maggie. And it ended badly; this article how Supergirl Slipped on Savers, sums it up. Basically Alex, out of the blue, became obsessed with babies despite neither her or Maggie ever mentioning children, and Maggie not wanting them and getting dumped. Maggie's departure was due to the actress not being available next season but there were other options than a breakup, let alone over that. It's more of the Brooklyn 99 thing I ranted about, Good People Want Babies, childfree people either change their mind or are doomed to be unloved.
That was the catalyst, but some of the political storylines were also getting overpowering too. I've got a lot of shows and anything that pisses me off this badly gets dumped!
