Snowflake challenge 2024 Day 10 + 12
Challenge #10
Five Things! The five things are totally up to you. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
So this one is the result of the poll (I might do the other options sometime) but it went live Friday before I was due to head out so I couldn’t do it at the time, so here it is now.
I did do five things in the icebreaker thing snowflake post so these top will be other things.
I’m gonna start with some things from 2023, which I was gonna do in a new year post but never got around to. All this under the cut cause long
Top 5 cinema films
1: Saw X
2: Dungeons And Dragons Honour Among Thieves
3: Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny
4: A Haunting In Venice
5: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3
I saw more films in the cinema last year than I expected looking back and all of them were pretty good, however these are my fav ones and all of them are pretty close in how much I enjoyed them. The one that’s a surprise is A Haunting In Venice, which certainly surprised me how good and atmospheric it was.
I wouldn’t have expected Saw X to be at the top either, especially with other things, but this one was just so… I think it was largely due to the set up beforehand. The first part of the film could easily have been a non-Saw film and worked just as well, and it showed John as a person, not as Jigsaw which was nice to see.
Top 5 albums
1: Sleep Token - Take Me Back To Eden
2: James Marriott - Are We There Yet
3: Lovejoy - Wake Up And It’s Over
4: Atreyu - The Beautiful Dark Of Life
5: Waterparks - Intellectual Property
I’d not heard of Sleep Token before their album came out and I saw people talking about it. So I gave it a listen and I was instantly hooked, I got the album as soon as I could and everything I’ve learned about them since has been unexpected. I love their aesthetics and their strange vibe, plus I’m surprised they’re from the uk. I really hope to see them live next tour.
James’ album was a close second and it’s been so great and I can easily listen to it non stop. Lovejoy’s is an EP rather than a full album but I’m putting it here just cause. It still baffles me they’ve not had a full album. Atreyu might switch places with them, but I’ve only listened to it a few times.
Top 5 games I finished
1: The Quarry
2: Ghost Trick
3: The Dark Pictures Anthology The Devil In Me
4: Inscryption
5: The Chant
I put games I finished rather than games that came out in 2023 because so many games from last year I’ve got but not finished. Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom, Super Mario Wonder, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Jedi Survivor, Starfield, Baldur’s Gate 3, these are all awesome games but I’ve not finished them. (And I’m sure there’s more too).
Again, I finished more games then I thought and some I’d forgotten. The Quarry ended up being my top soslely because of how great everything was. Next is Ghost Trick which is such a clever game (and ahhh Missle!). Then there’s The Devil In Me which is my fav of the dark pictures anthology (I finished all the games so far last year) and I just loved its Saw vibes. Inscryption was just such a wild and unexpected ride. Lastly a fair few things could have got in the last spot but I went with The Chant because it had such a unique vibe to it.
I’m sure there’s other things from 2023 I could do but I can’t think of them, so few free to leave comments for things.
Now onto a few other things, which I noted down on my trip on Friday.
Top 5 old Who eps
1: The Robots Of Death
2: The City Of Death
3: The Tomb Of The Cybermen
4: The Green Death
5: The Ark In Space
This actually ended up being pretty hard, mostly because I could have easily made it a bunch of fourth Doctor eps (I say, having made three of the five his eps anyway) and this is also liable to change as I do rewatches as the collection boxsets come out.
Robots is one of my favs because I love the vibes of it and I really love mysterious deaths on a ship/base type stories. Everything about it is on point, from the costumes to the design of the robots themselves. City Of Death is just so fun and again, it’s such a wild story (to be expected from Douglas Adams who did Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy). Tomb is probably my fav cyberman story, and my fav second Doctor story I’ve seen, again this is because of the vibes of the whole thing. The Green Death is such a great third Doctor story, though the end is a little sad but the environmental message is such a strong one. The Ark In Space is basically Doctor’s version of Alien, but done before Alien up even was a thing so is even more impressive.
Top 5 new Who eps
1: Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday
2: Partners In Crime
3: New Earth
4: The End Of The World
5: A Good Man Goes To War
Again, this is hard to narrow down and I feel it might change when I do a rewatch of the 11th and 12th Doctors (which I need to do sometime!) again it’s skewed mostly to one Doctor, the tenth.
Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday is top mostly because of the stuff that happens in Doomsday, with Daleks and Cybermen being bitchy to each other. Partners In Crime is there just cause it’s so fun (and Donna is awesome) and I love the adipose. New Earth is fun as well and is a follow up to The End Of The World which is the ep that cemented my love for the show (having an ‘I-pod’ play a ‘classic earth ballad’ which turned out to be Toxic was so iconic). And A Good Man is such a wild episode though as it’s the culmination of a few eps probably shouldn’t be watched in isolation, though it did give us Vastra, Jenny and Strax who still need a spin off.
Top 5 qsmp streamers
1: Foolish
2: Fit
3: Badboyhalo
4: Tubbo
5: Quackity
So I’ve split streamers into two categories, because that’s the best way I feel of doing them.
While this category is for QSMP I tend to watch Foolish more for his other things, though the things he has made on QSMP (and Dreamsmp before it) has always been impressive. Like the time and skill he has to make these things is so incredible. Plus he’s funny, a himbo and his laugh is infectious. Fit’s deep voice is so surprising but I like it so much. I’ve been watching him more lately as his slow burn with Pac has heated up and is now a full blown thing and I just love that (and their date was so cute). Bad is someone who is so funny to watch, but he’s at his best when he does creepy stuff. I need to watch him more. Tubbo is just… wildly insane. I’m looking forward to his subathon cause he has such awesome plans. And Quackity does punt stream as much but you have to praise him for getting all these disparate communities together,
I’d have added Wilbur but since he hasn’t streamed in ages cause of tours and such…
Top 5 non-qsmp streamers
1: Eret
2: Shoto
3: Jago
4: Seapeekay
5: James Marriott
Eret and Shoto are both there because of their voices. They’re both just so nice to listen to, but it also helps that Eret is so pretty (and I adore their outfits) and that Shoto can crush a watermelon with his thighs. Jago is just so endearing, but he’s so dumb as well, but that’s part of his charm. Seapeekay I’ve been watching more and more lately. He does a lt of Minecraft stuff but i prefer his variety stuff. I hope he plays more of the pat dreadout game he did on his subathon. James is just…. Insane. He says the craziest things, especially when he has no filter.
Again I’d have added Maxx, but he hardly streams despite promising to do more.
Snowflake’s day 11 challenge is do a fan work and I’m hoping to fic some but haven’t had the best of luck recently.
Challenge #12
Tell Us about a Personal Win.
I dunno it kinda doesn’t feel like I’ve had too many recently. However as I said that the start of the post I went to a gig last Fridays James Marriott’s and I really hoped to meet Jago, who’s his drummer after the show, and he was there! He was so sweet and endearing and just so… Jago.
I got a pic of him (not the best) and he also signed my copy of the album and it’s so wild and I still can’t quite believe it happened.

The past few days I’ve been looking for a few distractions so I’m gonna note them quick instead of posting them separately later.
Sunday I listened to the Magnus Protocol eps, which started last week. The first ep is largely set up and raises so many questions which I know will no doubt get answered as the series goes on (including the really intriguing sounding Magnus Institute ruins which are in a completely different place). The second ep definitely has an intriguing ‘statement’ (for a lack of a better term) which was definitely creepy. I’m definitely looking forward to more.
Yesterday I watched the Pokémon livestream which was nice to watch Johto eps as I’d not seen many of them before. I think my fav was the one with the wooper, because they’re just so cute.
Also last night on a recommendation I put on the first ep of Hazbin Hotel. Going in blind I had no idea what to expect butI definitely loved what I saw. Especially Angel and Alastor, who I both love already. I’m gonna try and watch more soon (also angels are dicks).
Tonight’s plan is largely unknown. I might try and fic and I might watch something, or I might game but I’m not sure what (it’s between Under The Waves, Cult Of The Lamb, Jedi Survivor or Elder Scrolls Online so it depends on my mindset). Or I might listen to something if my head is achy.

I think GotG3 was one of my favourite films last year, even though it was much bleaker than I was expecting going in.
Also, that win you wrote is brilliant! I'm glad you can hold onto that ♥
no subject
Yeah it probably would’ve been higher if it wasn’t for the bleakness (poor Rocket and his friends😭)
Awww thank, yeah I’m still so glad I got to meet him despite the pic being so bad and the interaction was so 🖤

Yay! Those are all good ones, though I didn’t listen to many new albums last year other then those

Yeah I didn't get to many new albums either last year
