Left your brain upstairs
So yesterday turned out to be a pretty odd day.
I spent most of the morning snuggled in bed and, after eating we took Naryu out for her walk, it was pretty uneventful, though we did see a heron. The horses were way back from the fence again but she still went right up to it to look at them.
The afternoon was spent doing a catch up on Castle episodes. I thought we’d only missed two but it turns out we’d missed three, oops. But the end of that I didn’t feel like getting up to put on a film so I just put on a random scooby doo film that was on, though it didn’t hold my interest.
(The Ethernet lead I ordered arrived so I was able to use the digibox to watch the extra channels and apps finally!)
I put on something about shrunken heads, which was vaguely interesting. It’s a shame that victorians took such an interest in them, turning what was once a proud tradition into a bloodbath. After that we watch The Voice which was pretty good. There was a curly haired guy which got through, yess! But I can’t recall much else.
Then I put on Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit on 4 +1. It was ok, not as good as I thought it would be (but then I had no real expectations). I thought it would be something mum might be interested in too, but she just read her kindle as usual, then grumped when it ran out of power before heading to bed.
I wasn’t focusing on things properly because I was working on fic, which I ended up posting last night. I’m pretty happy with it, considering it’s not the pairing that I usually like.
After that I felt that I was too tired to do the gaming on Xbox I was going to do (or watch something on Shudder), so I decided to move both of those things to tonight. Instead I just put on the next ep of the last Taskmaster series and then after it I dozed off.
Today I dunno what I’m gonna do yet. Usually we watch Enterprise after lunch and then watch whatever is on bbc at the night, but I dunno since mum seemed moody again last night. I’ll definitely try and game/watch a Shudder thing tonight though.
I might take a look at the fic prompts from Day 12 of snowflake (feel free to give any of them a go if they inspire, it’s open to everyone after all).
I’m gonna try and read some fic/ficlets today too. Hope everyone is doing ok
Quick edit since I just remembered things while out with pup.
First, I’ve put a few recent fics up on ao3, mostly the Killjoys ones and the last Ray one.
I’m annoyed at Disney XD because Resistance isn’t back next Saturday. Their twitter says it’s back ‘in the coming months’ but America already has them. With the first half of the series we were pretty much in sync with America but now we’re gonna be lagging behind which is annoying. Why do they always do this?
Like I said in my icon post yesterday, I finished Planet Alpha Friday. It’s a pretty game, but it seems a bit... I dunno. The whole thing lacks context. I was hoping the end would explain things, but the last scene just seems to end on the first (so it’s a loop? Which makes no sense considering the robots destroy the place.). I even youtube’d the ending where you get all four artifacts to see if that made sense but, nope that just ends with your character being sent off planet. So I’m not sure why the robots attacked the place. Though I’m sensing that they may have been sent to sterilise the planet (or at least the big creature in the lab) but ended up going overboard. I dunno though.
I’m hoping this coming week to actually get back to reading. Hopefully Claustrophilia, but I’d be happy if I just read one of the Star Wars graphic novels I have or more of the MCU visual dictionary. (Or the magazines that I still have.)

It's always interesting and good to stretch and write pairings you normally don't. But then it makes going back to favourites all the sweeter.

I loved the first season of Castle, but some of it got a bit peculiar when they were working around Stana and Nathan not getting on. Ryan and Esposito are always a good time though :D.
