(no subject)

I had hoped to do more again these past nights but I just… didn’t. My energy has just.. gone.

Friday I put watched Don’t Look now on tv (after The Pitt) and my focus wasn’t there for it. Saturday I watched Planet Of Fire just fine but Sunday I was just… gone. Same Monday. It’s so incredibly irritating, ugh. I just wanna be able to watch and do stuff but my body is like nope.

Sigh

I had hoped to watched things but I didn’t even manage to watch Tales From 85 (bar one ep after The Pitt) which ugh.

Gaming wise I did do Alien Isolation’s Crew Expendable dlc for Alien Day. It was just a short thing but it was nice to explore a bit of the Nostromo. (I’ve not finished the main game though, but a sequel is coming.) On the other hand yesterday I started Tiny Book Shop on game pass which was cute, plus there’s a dog to pet (I assume you can make him your friend as the game goes on too)

Yesterday mum’s friend came but thankfully it didn’t mean going anywhere which was good. Today though the weather turned chilly and the noises resumed outside after a few week break ugh. Also there was also an issue with the food shop, when the delivery guy almost left us without fridge stuff (and he’d not parked outside to go after him). Thankfully he realised and came back but ugh.

On the plus side the new mandalorian and Grogu Robinsons drink is really nice.

As mentioned above Saturday was the next of Who ray run, Planet Of Fire.

Planet Of Fire is very much a checklist episode (something which the making of confirmed). It had to introduce a new companion (Peri), be the last ep of another (Turlough), include the master (and his possible ‘death’), bring back and get rid of Kamelion and feature Lanzarote as a location. As always with a checklist like that results are mixed.

Peri’s introduction was ok, but it could’ve been better. She’s very much one of those companions that inadvertently ends up in the tardis rather than choosing to be. But I guess she got what she wanted, adventure away from her step father.

Turlough’s departure fares better, as this was very much a Turlough centric ep unlike some departure eps. Though it did feel like a bit of an info dump at times about his past. Still him heading home with a brother her never knew was a good ending, better than some anyway.

Kamelion was a bit eh. I mean I can see the appeal of him but it was clear he didn’t work from the first ep. Why they didn’t just write him out the pan I’ll never know. It’s weird cause he’s essentially been hanging in the tardis for… however many eps without even a mention (I wonder if people had even forgot he was there at the time). It’s funny then that this was also a story about him but it has no weight to it since he was a non entity for so long.

The master returning worked out ok and the reveal of him in the box was funny, but him being put to the flames of course wasn’t the end of him as we know, maybe if it was it would’ve hit different.

The location was used pretty well both as itself (Peri’s story starts in Lanzarote) and the surface of Sarn the titular planet. Being in such a location does give it a truly alien feel so kudos to that but you can tell it was a nightmare to shoot due to the terrain.

All in all it was an ok ep. Again I’m not sure if it’s cause of the recent tiredness but I just… didn’t vibe with it really. Next time (who knows when!) will be Caves Of Androzani that I can remember watching ages ago but only vaguely.

The making of was also unintentionally funny as it felt like every 5 minutes they shoehorned a new song in randomly which was amusing. But it was also funny that they filmed Peru’s drowning near a nudist beach and didn’t realise until they started filming. (Where a naked German went rushing to her aid thinking she was actually in trouble).

Tonight’s plan is maybe watch something but it depends on how my eyes feel. If it’s anything like the last days it might not be much but hopefully I can watch something,
