Not sure if you're familiar with the TV show From, but the Exquisite Corpses reminds me of that since that's also a town cut off from the world (traps anyone who arrives in the town, once you see a fallen tree in the road you're stuck). Maybe when my sodding WiFi is fixed I may be able to do something with the idea...
