"In Odyssey and Origins you were fighting to save your homeland from the order of the ancients influence but with Valhalla you’re a stranger in a strange land."

From what I've seen its very pragmatic - i.e you don't necessarily care about the order of acients, but your goals and the hidden ones goals align. I think this makes the story a bit weaker in that sense but that may develop as it goes on.
