So today is the day that uni officially ends and, as I’ve said before, I’m so glad it’s over. I now have a couple of weeks to rest and then consider which one to do next, which I think I’ll look at more carefully. Hopefully the next course will be a bit better.
I’m gonna spend a bit of time getting back into reading during the time off, I wanna finish the book I started a few weeks back, then do the new Lesser Known Monsters and then get back to reading the massive pile of Star Wars books. Most are high republic, but a few are more standalone ones. Before I read those I wanna finish the free comic book day comics too.
On Wednesday I ended up going to get some dog food and stuff… and of course got caught in the rain. I did find a glow in the dark Vanya funko at TK though and the new vanity fair at m and s (and a discounted Lego set at sainsburys) so it was worth the annoyance.
Extant has finished on horror channel Friday and I’m glad about that. Season 2 went in such a different direction than one and… yeah. Far too many of the humans were assholes and it was just a bit… eh. Space 1999 replaces it Monday and I’m not sure I’ll watch since I watched season one of it when they showed it awhile back.
The Doctor Who magazine came yesterday too which has a bit about the new Doctor but I’ve not read it yet. I love that they’ve chosen to have him in the outfit he wore to the awards thing the other week. I did read the bit about the new boxset that’s coming in a month and I’m looking forward to seeing it. Weather I’ll feel that way when I watch it I dunno.
It’s another Saturday without a song Saturday (at time of writing, but I might do one later). There is a bunch of new songs out that I’ve not listened to so I might do a disjointed one or one tomorrow (there’s Blue, Coheed, the set it off one and I’m sure there’s something else too).
The main thing now is that it’s Star Wars celebration and there’s been livestreams for the past few days. The problem with livestreams is they don’t have schedules beforehand, though this time they have at least mentioned which panels will be seen at the start. The first day had the Emperor panel and High Republic one (which made me wish I’d read more of the books already) and a few random interviews between. One of the last of those I saw before bed was one with Ewan and Hayden and it was so sweet how many people cheered for them both.
Obviously Friday was the start of the Obi-Wan series and I’m not gonna mention anything about it here but you should watch as soon as possible if you want to see it. If only to avoid spoilers because hoo boy (I’m glad I saw it much earlier than I usually would). I will say though I love Lola and I feel safe saying that since she’s also in a VW ad so she’ll be on regular tv too.
Friday’s livestream had three panels, Lego, Attack Of The Clones and Disney parks. It was a shame Lego didn’t have more reveals, but then there is there own thing in a few weeks so. However the new Lego BD-1 looks so cute and I love it, and I’m glad the advent calendar seems to be going in a new direction (a summer beach party, which is inspiration for the new Lego special). The attack of the clones anniversary panel was nice too, and I love the relationship between Daniel and Temura, it’s so sweet. And then Ewan and Hayden joined right at the end. The Disney parks one is where I felt drained, so I did drift off before the end but what I heard was interesting.
Alas I’ll miss most of tonight’s stream due to mcc but I can catch it later. (Watch it include loads of stuff)
There has been two trailers for new things. One is the fallen order sequel (which I need to finish) which is vague enough to ensure that it’s unclear what’s gonna happen but it’s interesting looking. The other was Andor which is coming out in August. I have to admit which I’m a bit… eh about more stuff set in the dark times I am curious, especially since it seems to be split between being about Cassian and Mon Mothma (which means seeing Courscant and the imperial senate!). I really hope that the series includes when she makes that badass speech that’s mentioned in other sources where she calls out Palpatine in front of the senate. Plus Fiona Shaw is gonna be in it which is pretty cool.
Since we didn’t go to doctor strange last week I had considered going today, but of course the only showing in town now is too late to get to which is sucky. So I guess we’re waiting for the home release/Disney+ to see it
I do need to find the last two Grimm eps on tv online, since I missed them due to the livestreams (since I feel they’re important )
